- The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Pick up time from Hurghada hotel about 1 am to check point of convoy. We will leave from Hurghada to Cairo at 01:30 am. we have stopped in in the middle of the way at coffeeshop, you can use toilet or drink coffee, we stop there about 20 minutes. Then we will move to Cairo. We will be there at 8:30 am. The Egyptian museum will be your first visit at 9 am. You’ll meet your private Egyptologist guide, who’ll escort you to the Egyptian museum, one of the greatest assemblies of ancient Egyptian artifacts in the world, with over 120,000 items in its vast collection, including the treasures of King Tutankhamen’s tomb Then you will have a delicious lunch at 11:30 am.

A memorable day - This was a wonderful experience. Having said that, it's a very long day and the van has the smallest, most uncomfortable seats but we kinda knew what we were in for when we booked it. It is in fact a 23 hour day. We were picked up at 2am to start our drive to Cairo. There are many check points along the way which makes it a longer drive. ( You don't need to bring your passport) There are 2 opportunities to and from to use the toilets, one is at a food court. You will need $1 USD or 1 Euro to use the toilets but they are clean and have paper. The food court is a must on the way home. Once in Cairo we met our personal tour guide and egyptologist, Mario at the museum. He was very knowledgeable and ensured we got to see everything while bypassing the crowds. Next we went to the Papyrus shop where we learned how the made the paper, before being taken to a fabulous restaurant for a great meal of mixed grill. The pyramids were of course the highlight! We were there for 2.5 hours. The experience was beyond my expectations. Mario also brought us past the crowds and camel guides to a quieter area where he assured us a loc guide was honest, and treated his animals very well so we could ride the camels. Something I highly recommend as they bring you behind the pyramids where you can see all 9. The camel guide, Gamal,also took some fun pictures of us. While it's a long and exhausting day, it's definitely worth doing if you are staying at a resort in Hurghada and don't want to fly/ stay a few days in Cairo
