Highlights
  • The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - The Egyptian Museum, established in 1901 AD, is located in downtown Cairo, right in the heart of Tahrir Square. It is renowned for housing the famous collection of King Tutankhamun, who ascended to the throne of Egypt at the age of nine. Visitors to the Cairo Museum can explore the sacred room of King Tut, which contains his golden mask, weighing eleven kilograms of solid gold, and his golden coffin, weighing one hundred and fourteen kilograms of solid gold. The museum’s first floor showcases numerous statues from the Old Kingdom and Middle Kingdom, dating back approximately four thousand five hundred years. Among these are the statue of the scribe and the statue of King Cheops, the builder of the Great Pyramid in Giza. The museum also features funerary coffins and many sarcophagi, each made of granite and weighing five tons. Upstairs, visitors can see King Tut’s throne, the mummies of Yuya and Thuya, and the Animal Mummy Room.
  • الاهرامات الثلاثة - In the Giza plateau, there are nine pyramids, including three large ones for King Cheops, King Khafre, and King Menkaure. The Pyramid of Cheops is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. To this day, the method of its construction remains a mystery. Built around 2500 BC, it consists of two million three hundred thousand stone blocks, each weighing between two and fifteen tons. From the highest point in Giza, visitors can view all the pyramids together. The Sphinx, which has been guarding the pyramids for four thousand five hundred years, awaits tourists. The Sphinx, with the head of King Khafre and the body of a lion, symbolizes power and wisdom. It is 70 meters long and 22 meters high.
  • Great Sphinx - The Sphinx is one of the largest statues in the world, measuring 20 meters in length and 73 meters in width. It features the body of a lion and a human head adorned with the royal headdress. Carved from a single piece of limestone, the three pyramids were constructed as tombs to protect the king’s body and preserve the supplies he would need in the afterlife from thieves. One of the most notable characteristics of the Sphinx in Giza is its missing features, such as the nose, which was one meter long and whose whereabouts remain unknown. The statue also has a long tail wrapped around its right foot.

So good tour - The most beautiful tour during our trip to Egypt but also the most strenuous. You have to be aware that it takes 7 hours to travel from Hurghada to Cairo. Normally it would be faster, but due to the security situation we had to travel in a convoy. We went back without it and it only took 5 hours. Here too, in my opinion, driving with your own driver and car was the right choice. The car was clean, the driver was on time and everything was prepared with drinks and snacks. I also recommend taking packed lunches from the hotel with you for the long journey. The biggest advantage here again is that you can decide for yourself how long you are where and how you set your priorities. I would be, for example I would rather have stayed in the museum a little longer than taken the boat trip on the Nile in Cairo, which wasn't worth it in my opinion. However, my friend thought the boat trip was better than the museum. A matter of taste. Our guide knew and was well prepared. He also had contacts and was able to get us a camel ride around the great pyramids. I can only highly recommend this, it is away from the tourist crowds and you get another view of the pyramids. We were generally looked after very well and I have to say I would book this trip again.
