Highlights
  • Giza Plateau - The pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx are among the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and indeed already were even in Roman times. Each of these spectacular structures served as the final resting place of a king of the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for king Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), and the other two for Khafre and Menkaure, his son and grandson. Khufu’s pyramid is both the oldest and largest of the three, and the first building to exceed it in height would not be built for another 3,800 years!

Although the three pyramids dominate the plateau, they are in fact surrounded by many other monuments. Every king’s pyramid was just one element albeit the most important of a larger complex that included smaller, subsidiary, queens’ pyramids; an additional one that acted as a second, symbolic, tomb for the king, called a satellite pyramid; mastaba tombs for nobility and other family members.

  • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin of a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many buildings of Khufu are lost. Everything known about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For example, Khufu is the main character noted in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
  • Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre. Several were found in a well in the floor of the temple by Mariette in 1860. Others were found during successive excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, Reisner,
  • Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex consists of a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added on to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
  • Great Sphinx - visit the most famous sphinx in Egypt and Our Guide will assist you in taking a nice photo there
  • The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. Built in 1901 by the Italian construction company Garozzo-Zaffarani to a design by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the edifice is one of the largest museums in the region. As of March 2019, the museum is open to the public. In 2021 the museum is due to be superseded by the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza.
  • Khan Al-Khalili - most famous old market in Egypt where you can buy cheap souvenirs.

At the end of the Tour you will be transferred back to your Hotel.

Best Egypt Tours and Exceptional Tour Guide! Definitely Recommend! - We had a great time with Emo Tours Egypt for several tours while we were in Egypt. We had Ahd on the pyramids tour and she was extremely knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the history of the pyramids and other pertinent information about Egypt. In addition, she took numerous photos for us. Surprisingly, we had her again for another tour, the Cairo day tour at the Egyptian Museum, Bazaar, and Citadel! This was a wonderful surprise! Again, she provided a personable tour. 10/10 recommend Ahd and Emo Tours Egypt for anyone traveling to the Cairo/Giza area in the future.

Well arranged with excellent guide - We actually did 3 tours with Emotours in Cairo. We did Egyptian Museum, Citadel and Khan Khallili Market as a day tour, a half day tour of the Giza pyramids and a full day tour of Dahur, Sakkara and Memphis with an airport dropoff at the end. The only negative was a lack of communication by Emo when we asked a few days before the tour who the guide would be, as we requested specific guides based on reviews. That said, our guide who was not on our list, Ahmed Essam was excellent. He was wth us for all 3 days and was very helpful, very personable and knowledgable. The tours were very good with good drivers and very informative. They were all done based on our time schedule. For the Giza tour, I arranged a camel ride with Hamdi and Ahmed coordinated to find him and was there when we finished to return to us to the hotel. After the all day Dashur/Sakkara/Memphis tour, we were dropped at the airport, I never worried about our luggage in the car as the driver stayed with it. We did keep our passports, cards and cash with us, of course. I would recommend Emo as a competent tour provider.

Emo Tour with Tonsi was a great experience! - Our tour guide, Tonsi, made this an unforgettable experience that we would recommend to all our friends. We took the private Giza pyramids + Cairo museum + Bazaar tour and our tour guide, along with the private driver, accompanied us for the duration of the trip (better part of a day). Tonsi was very knowledgeable about the history of ancient Egypt and a great teacher of Egyptian customs and culture. He guided us through the city and always shared with us anecdotes and helpful information about what we were looking at experiencing. In addition to being an excellent guide, Tonsi also allowed us to experience other aspects of Egyptian culture, such as the local cuisine (he took us to a great authentic restaurant to try the Koshary) and Egyptian coffee. During our trip, Tonsi always made sure that we understood the context of what we were witnessing and made us feel extremely welcome. He went above and beyond to even communicate with us after the tour. He helped us set up more experiences and was so kind and helpful. We would 100% recommend a tour with Tonsi. Thanks to him, we left feeling like we now had a friend in Cairo.

Private tour with Nesma - We had a great time with our private tour party of 6. I would not do it any other way. Nesma and our driver Agmy were with us for 2 days and we were able to use our time efficiently seeing all the sites that Cairo has to offer! Do not miss the Egyptian museum.

Book with another tour guide - Book with another tour company, Emo use 3rd party contractors. You won’t get the suv pictured, the whole day was rushed. We were ushered between “shops”of friends of the tour guide. You’re not under any obligation to purchase anything but it’s awkward and time consuming and took away from the tour of the pyramids, museum and we never even made it to the boutique market. 80% of the photos the guide took were stupid with our hands in the wrong place to hold the pyramid in fact the camel guy took far better photos! and unfortunately his breath was so bad we were fighting amongst ourselves over who should stand beside him next. A long way to go, a lot of money spent and a huge disappointment. Photo example included…

Avoid! - The tour guide was okay. She gave some incorrect information but I am not sure if it was due to a language barrier. The most disappointing part was that when we were supposed to go to the bazaar, she informed us that most of the shops were closed because it was Sunday. I feel like I should have been told this when we booked and later was told that it wasn’t really true. My family and I missed out on the bazaar because of this!
