Saqqara/Dashur, Cairo city tour and day trip to Alexandria - I travelled to Egypt alone and booked a 3 day tour with Samo Tours. Saleh was the contact and he kept in touch before and during the trip. Amina was my guide for the first 2 days where we visited Saqqara and Dashur pyramids. She was very informative and friendly and I would recommend her. Day 2 was a Cairo exploring trip. We went to the Citadel, mosques, Coptic Cairo and Egyptian museum. The traffic in Cairo is bad but the tour was good. My driver for all 3 days was Muhamed and I would recommend him. He drove sensibly and at a speed I was comfortable with rather than racing around switching lanes every 30 seconds which seems normal for most other drivers.. On day 3 I was due to go to Alexandria but as a result of heavy rain (!) the roads were unsafe but thankfully Saleh was able to switch arrangements so I could go on my 4th day in Egypt which I had planned as a rest / pool day. Alexandria doesn’t have masses to see but I enjoyed the trip and am glad I did it as with a bit of imagination you can put yourself in the past especially by visiting the Catacombs and Pompey Pillar area (definitely go inside both rather than save money looking from the outside as there is a lot you would miss that way)
