Cairns, a city renowned for its tropical beauty and outdoor adventures, offers a different kind of charm when the skies turn grey and the rain begins to fall. This weekend, as the rain graces the city, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore the rich cultural tapestry and indoor comforts that Cairns has to offer.
Start your day with a visit to the Aquarium Adventure, where you can explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest without getting wet. The Cairns Aquarium is home to over 16,000 creatures, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region’s unique biodiversity. Don’t miss the guided tour of the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre at 11:30 AM, where you’ll learn about the conservation efforts to protect these gentle sea creatures. As you wander through the aquarium, you’ll be reminded of the importance of preserving our natural world, a theme that resonates deeply with those who are passionate about sustainable travel.
Informative and interesting - This was a great tour. I thought that 2 and three quarter hours was too much but the Aquarium was fantastic and I nearly had enough time. The tour in the afternoon was interesting and informative as we went to a lot of unusual places, the lookout, the gardens, the museum etc. Chris was friendly, kind and helpful and full of knowledge. Good experience all round. (Reviewed at: 2024-06-08)

Highly recommend this cruise - Great experience, delicious food & extremely helpful staff, very efficient- highly recommend! No sunset due to rainy night but a great time was had! (Reviewed at: 2025-03-15)
The dinner cruise is not just about the food; it’s an experience that combines the beauty of Cairns’ waterfront with the comfort of a luxurious vessel. As you sip on a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, you’ll feel a sense of tranquility and connection to the natural world, even amidst the urban setting.
