Highlights
  • Waterfall Wanderers - A full day tour for the young and the young at heart! Swim and explore the numerous stunning waterfalls of the Atherton Tablelands including morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
  • Babinda Boulders - Our first stop for the day is Babinda Boulders, this is a very well-known location as it is a significant place for the local indigenous people. During the 45 minutes here we will show you around the amazing site and tell you the history and legends of the boulders - there are a few spooky stories! This is considered one of Cairns’ must visit spots especially during times of heavy rain the strength of the water passing through the boulders has to be seen to be believed!
  • Josephine Falls - Next stop (and our first swimming spot!) is Josephine Falls! A short walk on an even pathway will bring you through the rainforest to the crystal clear waters and natural rock slide of the falls! Slip and slide down, cool off in the blue water or take advantage of the stunning scenery and take a few photos.
  • Millaa Millaa Falls - Next we will head up the Palmerston Highway onto the Atherton Tablelands to the most photographed waterfall in Australia! Millaa Millaa Falls are known worldwide for it’s inclusion in the Herbal Essences and Qantas adverts. Here is the place to try the iconic hair flick or get a natural massage from the water cascading over the falls. World Famous and a must see on the Tablelands!
  • Malanda - A well earned rest is coming up next, with lunch at Top Rail. Lunch is included but you can also purchase additional drinks if you like and take a break from the swimming.
  • Curtain Fig National Park - See this magnificent Strangler Fig Tree and perhaps be lucky enough to see the eluisive Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo
  • Lake Eacham Crater Lakes National Park - Our last swim for the day is at Lake Eacham. Lake Eacham is a beautiful volcanic Crater Lake-heated from within and maintaining a steady 27 degrees water temperature all year round! Deep blue waters will certainly tempt you in for one last swim. Spot turtles in the shallows or just lay back and enjoy the last golden sunlight of the day. Your Guide will also serve afternoon tea here before starting the trip back down the Gillies Range to Cairns.

Excellent afternoon and evening nature exploration. - We went with the company Wait a While and enjoyed an excellent afternoon and evening nature exploration walk. The tour was in a minibus, had a maximum number of 9 (I think - but we were only 6 ;0) and included an evening meal in a typical ‘pub’ (as hotels are called in Australia!?). A short walk in the rainforest was excellent and we all learned a lot including why a fairly common plant is nicknamed ‘Wait a While’! During the afternoon we spotted quite a few animals in the wild including the famous and rare duck billed platypus (yay!). Good binoculars - a pair each for everyone in the party - were provided for the whole day as well as umbrellas when it rained. We didn’t see as much as we had hoped for in the evening but think the rain may have caused some animals to shelter!? The overall view of everyone - including some people we didn’t know from other countries - was excellent and well worth doing.

Breathtaking and fun - Really incredible. The tour guides were fun and stopped at each spot depending how long the people on the tour wanted to stay, maximizing what everyone wanted to do. I forgot their names, but the guides working on May 08th were loads of fun, we even got an opera solo. Definetly bring your swimmers!

Amazing highly recommend - We had an unbelievable day, swimming and jumping into amazing waterfalls and swimming spots. Our tour guide was lovely, very friendly and informative but didn’t talk too much like on some tours I have done and let you rest on the bus between stops. Great lunch stop and perfect amount of time in each swimming spot to really enjoy the stops.

No stop for looking for platypus - Liked very much the waterfalls and the lake, but the tour included looking for platypus and they didn't even tried to make that stop, and that's the reason why I booked this tour
