Experience Green Island - All staff on and off boat are very helpful and friendly. Great island to spent the day. Great weather on the island even though the boat ride over was very rough and windy, with a period of heavy rain. I enjoyed the Helicopter ride, excellent pilot. While snorkeling I saw many species of fish and some brain coral.

Ashley captain of our glass bottom boat - Ashley, made our 1/2 day tour truly magical, as she took us out at low tide and we got to see the reef, fish and sea turtles and her passion for what she does was incredible and appreciated.

Great day and prescription masks! - A great day out. Actually swam with turtles! Took our own Lycra swim suits so less sun cream going into the sea and borrowed snorkelling gear - they even had prescription masks. I was really lucky as managed to get some with my very strong prescription but worth adding as a request.

We added on snorkeling... - We added on snorkeling with a tour guide to our experience once we arrived on The Great Barrier Reef. Would highly recommend doing so. Had a perfect day and really enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent trip - The staff on board the boat across and back were friendly and very helpful. The glass bottom boat trip was well worth it. Teenagers loved it. But the highlight was snorkeling on the reef just off shore. We saw loads of fish and other sea creatures and we absolutely loved it. Shame the food venues are so expensive and close quite early.

Not exactly as described but still wonderful. - It was a lovely ferry ride to the island and a harrowing ride back in a storm, unexpected and fun. It was not exactly what I had expected. The snorkeling was on your own on a beach a little too far away from where the ferry landed for the rest of my family so we passed on that. I thought the snorkeling was off of the glass bottom boat. I should’ve paid more attention to the description. Had I known I would have booked a different tour, but I imagine the walk around the island is absolutely beautiful.

Breathtaking but …. - We booked a tour as I had done this previously many years ago and wanted to share this with my fiance during our recent holiday in Australia. Green Island is absolutely stunning for snorkelling, we thoroughly enjoyed swimming with the fish and taking in the breathtaking views across the Great Barrier Reef. The boat taking us over to Green Island and back was very very good, luckily the day was quite calm so it was not a rough ride. They had forecast a large swirl in the morning which never happened, but sadly they cancelled the Glass Bottom Boat which was part of this day out. It was a real shame because the swirl had passed and the boat was there in the afternoon taking other tourists out. As an alternative they offered us access to Marineland, which resides on the island. It was no replacement at all! Very small, we did not feel the enclosures were big enough for the crocodiles, and we personally felt it was not very informative at all and very dirty. We completely understand that you cannot control the weather, but please please do not offer something as an alternative when it is nowhere near an alternative! Other than that Green Island is as beautiful as it ever was and would highly recommend for people who love diving and snorkelling to go there!

Disappointing reef tour - You’re pretty much on your own. You’re dropped off on the island which says it has a resort but actually there is just a small swimming pool, maybe 2 food shacks and a small dive shop where you pick up your snorkeling gear. It was extremely windy so the water was not clear and everyone we talked to that went snorkeling saw nothing so we decided to not do that. Of course the tour company had no control over the weather… we knew that. Considering the weather though, was there some less windy place we could have been taken to be able to see the reef?? Or maybe a longer glass bottom boat tour?? We just didn’t feel that we really got to see the reef which was the whole reason we booked the tour

Great place if you just want to relax - It was not a bad activity, but I wish I would’ve used the one more day I had on something else. I would recommend going on a boat and snorkeling instead of being on this island. The short boat ride to a reef to go snorkeling was worth it, but it was extra. I went to go see the crocodiles to burn up time that was extra….It is a lot of time to spend there with limited activities to do. However, the staff were extremely friendly and outgoing.

Underwhelmed at the tour - We had booked the 3-hour tour, but the logistics and timing could have been better. We docked at Green Island a little after 10, and our Glass Bottom ride was at 11:45 a.m. We had to rush to get the snorkeling gear and get out of the water by 11:30. We had about an hour left in our tour after the Glass Bottom tour, and it wasn't enough time to go through the same steps again. This was not a "wow" experience!
