Additional Information

We embark on the journey of crafting a traditional Sardinian delicacy known as Culurgiones, a type of stuffed handmade pasta. The process of pasta making is simple, but perfecting the closure of a culurgiones is a whole new challenge! We commence by preparing pasta and cooking vegetables, then it turns intriguing as you learn to master the Ogliastra ‘culurgiones’ stitch - an amazing technique of skillfully sealing the fresh pasta with its filling inside, all by hands. Once done, we set the table together, pour a glass of red wine, and gear up for an authentic Sardinian lunch, which includes a savory serving of bread and cheese along with the red wine. This event isn’t just a cooking class - it transitions into a convivial gathering where everyone feels at home, and we absolutely love it!

A wonderful morning with Damiano! - It was a really successful cooking class from start to finish. Damiano is funny, nice and very patient. Even though I was alone, he took a lot of time and explained everything to me step by step. The culurgiones tasted really fantastic and I am very happy to be able to take some authentic Sardinian cuisine home with me. The good ingredients will be a little difficult to find in Norway but I will definitely try to cook this recipe as best as I can. Thank you for the lovely morning. I can only recommend this cooking class wholeheartedly.

Fun cooking with even better company - We loved making culurgiones with Damiano! He was a such a patient teacher and entertaining host who made us passionate about cooking. Meeting other travelers in our group was so interesting and wonderful. Damiano went above and beyond by offering us local wine, cheese, and desserts to try as well. He also gave us great local recommendations for the rest of our stay.

Don’t miss this!!! - I cannot say enough about our cooking class with Damian. The food we prepared, under his supervision, was amazing. We learned so much about cooking, but in addition, his experience with Sardinia culture. history and local attractions was fascinating. An added bonus was his extensive knowledge of wines made on the island of Sardinia. Although we gained an immense amount of knowledge, we didn’t feel like we were in a class …. We felt like we were at a friend’s home for a fabulous lunch. Don’t miss this incredible workshop. It’s the best!!

The role of pasta in Sardinia - Very entertaining and knowledgeable host. He taught us a great deal more about Sardinia and its food and culture than simply making pasta.
