Beautiful Botanical Gardens - Love this Botanical Gardens, great photo ops and a lot of hiking trails and some museum exhibits displayed here and there. Flowering plants, cacti/succulents, orchids, agricultural plants some sculptures and even a restaurant and nice gift shoppe with many different kinds of chocolate bars. Not a difficult walk. Places for romantic picture taking for couples. You won't get lost. The hiking trails is through the tropical forest. The tequila distillery has many flavors of tequila to try. The fish and seafood restaurant is located there. It's best to have a private visit with the owner afterwards on the agave farming and tequila making . Enjoyable Botanical Gardens can be reached by county bus.

Don’t miss this tour! - Wonderful tour guide who highlighted so many great viewing points on our drive to the botanical gardens. He is passionate and knowledgeable about the country side and his conservation work with macaws. First stop was a small coffee plantation before the botanical gardens. This is a great place to get a bite to eat before tequila tasting. Lunch at the tequila distillery is limited and pricey. Tequila tasting was cheeky and fun and I highly recommend.

The orchids are... - The orchids are beautiful!! Jorge is a very knowledgeable tour guide. The tour description is very accurate. Note that it is a long ride, over really bumpy cobblestone roads and dirt roads. Definitely dramamine worthy!!!

Jorge was a great guide.... - Jorge was a great guide. Really appreciated all his knowledge. Botanical gardens were beautiful. Tequila tasting was fun but we could have had a shorter stay at the restaurant. We thought the day would be over by 3:00 or so but didn’t get back until after 5:00. Restaurant was also expensive.

Should Be Called Tequila and Botanical Tour - This tour was a fun way to spend the day. While the bus was a bit rough on the inside the seats were comfortable and the a/c worked well. The drive was longer than I expected but tour guide and driver were fantastic the stop at the coffee farm was a waste of time. The gardens were very interesting. Jorge the tour guide had fascinating information about his group’s efforts to protect the native Macaws in the area. While the garden was not as polished as others we have been to they were very nice. The amount of butterflies around were an added treat. The next stop was Rancho Los Veranos for tequila tasting and lunch. This is not included in the cost of the trip but worth the additional money. The tasting was informative as well as fun. They were generous with the tequila. Of course that helps you to buy their tequila. It is only sold on site. Their extra anejo is very smooth. It is as good as Don Julio 1942 especially when it is about half the price. More time is spent with lunch and tequila than at the gardens but a fun day.

Getting into nature - Having been coming to PV over 30 times, this was a place I’d never seen. We went with Viator since we use them all over the world. Pick up at our resort was on time. Our guide, Jesus, was outstanding! He told us so many interesting facts and history during our drive. It is around an hour from downtown PV in the Sierra Madre mountains. Beautiful ride. We stopped at a family coffee place, very nice, several people purchased items. When we got to the gardens Jesus led us around on jungle paths. Note: if you have walking problems not for you, up and down steps! We then had an hour and half to go through the gardens. A young couple went to the river to swim, we decided to have a pizza there since the restaurant is well rated, then we wandered around for half hour. It was started by foreigners and could use more care… but we enjoyed it very much. We left and drove a short way to a tequila tasting and a place to eat. Since we had eaten we were not interested and only wanted a drink, this part wasn’t pleasant. Carlos the driver was a good driver. It was a pleasant day out. I do recommend going to San Sebastián in the mountains tour- it’s a lovely old town,

Botanical Garden & Tequilla Tasting - The botanical gardens are worth visiting and the tequila tasting was good. Was hoping to learn more about the tequila making process which we got to see or learn very little. Also would not recommend ordering the lunch as it was expensive and not nearly as good as the food from restaurants in PV. If I were to go again I’d take a taxi and do the gardens only and enjoy a lunch there.
