Great Half-day Excursion - Unique experience to be up close and personal with camels, and to ride them on the beach. The lunch following the ride was excellent, as was the tequila tasting. Emmanuel was a superb guide!

Cactus Tour - My wife and I had an amazing Camel Tour with our knowledgeable guide, Pedro. Pedro gave us lots of information about the camels and also the living desert of the Baja peninsula. Would highly recommend using both Cactus Tours and Pedro has a guide.

Disappointed with the fine print - So I stupidly didn’t read the reviews prior to booking this and then couldn’t cancel bc it was booked the day before. I was a solo traveler. I did not know I couldn’t take my phone. The girl at the desk told me that I would have to either lock the phone in a locker or pay $150 for a private tour. So anywhere from 1-4 people is a $150 fee which seems outrageous for the solo traveler but I obliged. I am not sure why it couldn’t have been like another $50 more for 1 person but it’s not it’s the full $150 plus what I paid for the original excursion. I was like ok cool bc I saw some of the photo packages and they were pricey so I figured why not just do the private tour. So I get on the camel with my guide who was great but I’m not naming him bc this was not his fault. I then am on the camel and ask the guide to take a photo of me on the camel since I paid the extra. He told me he wasn’t allowed to hold my phone……..that is why I paid the extra fee! I was only able to take selfies as I was by myself. This was a complete waste of money. The camel ride was about 10-15 min and still someone with a camera followed us around the whole time snapping photos. I would not do this again. I got my “selfie” and wrote this off as a waste.

Nice experience but trapped - The camel ride and our guide was nice and getting there was easy. Leaving is what was awful. The guy said 10 minutes till the van, 30 minutes went by then he said should be another 15 min. An hour from my original request the van shows up and then we sat there and waited on others to fill the van. My tour and lunch were done at 11. We didn’t leave until 12:15. There is no Uber service to get you. So if you go, prepare to be trapped there unless your tour just happens to finish at the same time the van arrives. They really need to improve the leaving experience.

Camel Ride - its ok, Camera policy sucks though - The camel tour itself was fine, the cons are that they try to prevent you from bringing your phone so that you can't take pictures which is kind of stupid. They just want to sell you a photo package which I would have purchased even if I took my own pictures, they need to get rid of this policy. I saw one camel limping as well, not sure how well they take care of these animals. Free tequila tasking is really just like 2 baby shots as well FYI. I also had to rush and eat my burrito or the shuttle would have left me. One last thing, the way home didn't make sense, we essentially passed my hotel and other people got dropped off first, it didn't make any sense.

Look elsewhere ... weak, over-priced experience that was purely a vehicle for selling/marketing still more junk! - We scheduled a tour through our Concierge (who told us that we were one of the first he'd referred to Cactus Tours). Our experience couldn't have been more different than we were led to believe -- from both the Concierge and the Cactus Tours brochure. Here's what we disliked: [1] the tour lasted 1 hour 20 minutes, not 2 hours, [2] we were billed in Pesos, not USD, at a ridiculous exchange rate and subject to a foreign currency transaction fee by our Credit Card company ... added $40-50 to our cost, [3] we were continuously barraged by sale pitches before (30 minutes wait), during (75 minutes) and after our tour (1 hour wait for shuttle pickup) -- insurance, private tour, gifts, tequila, and picture package that we 4x what other tours companies charged - $115/$145 at Cactus vs. $35 at other tour companies, [4] the camel ride was no more than 15-20 minutes and involved a slow walk the length of a football field and back with frequent stops for pricey picture package ... anything but an enjoyable ride, [5] we were promised an fresh, authentic Mexican lunch but the cook simply removed a pre-made burrito from a fridge and warmed it on the grill for 3-5 minutes, [6] the nature tour lasted all of 10 minutes and involved looking at 6-8 plants over a 30 foot walk where a small sign (no more that 40-50 words) revealed the history & uses of the plan -- most unimpressive. I would strongly encourage others to avoid spending their hard-earned money simply for the privilege of being sold, cross-sold and up-sold every moment you're on property. Note: we had a marvelous Whale Watching Tour experience through Petzgato in the town of (marina at) Cabo San Lucas - less money, lasted longer, great people, very good food and as close to whales as you're legally allowed.
