Had fun! - It's a workout but it was beautiful. Very little bioluminescent activity but still a worthwhile event.

Great tour! - It helps to know how to kayak, especially in a tandem kayak before going on this tour. Expect to kayak back with only moonlight and the darker the moon the better the bioluminescence will be.

A fun family excursion with a 9 and 13-year-old - We had a great time on this excursion. I wished the bioluminescence would’ve been brighter, but that’s really not anybody’s fault. The team was well informed and educated and had plenty of experience.

Great experience! - Highly recommend - the check-in process was easy, the guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. I feel like they did a great job of turning off our lights and giving us a tarp to block all the light so we could have the full bioluminescent experience. Highly recommend.

Adventures in Bioluminescence! Awesome kayak tour - This was something we had wanted to definitely do as part of our itinerary on our Puerto Rico adventure and it didn't disappoint! We arrived at Kayak Village having followed by very clear and concise instructions sent to us via email at the point of booking. Parking was free and the various adventure companies well signposted so it was easy to locate Pure Adventure. After checking in with the super bright and smiley Catalina, we were advised on storing our valuables and electricals and provided with big spray to ward off the mosquitos. After being allocated life jackets and a brief (and witty) safety briefing from Eli , we were on our way. The night kayak took us single file through the mangroves. The pace was gentle and at all stages we felt safe and supported. The mangroves opened out in a beautiful moonlit lagoon and it was here that we were invited to kayak around , disturb the water to see the bioluminescence. Our guides Javier, Eli, David and Amaury were knowledgeable about nature both in the water, but also in the sky, teaching us about the star constellations overhead. They brought with them a tarp which we were able to gather under to enhance the bioluminescence. The evening was magical, made even more enjoyable by the witty commentary from our guides - (particularly Eli who kept us entertained on the paddle back to base). We were on honeymoon and this experience was a real highlight of our time spent in beautiful Puerto Rico. Thank you so much to the Pure Adventure team. Sarah & Jules

Our Fajardo Bio Bay experience - We were really looking forward to this tour. The tour facility was nice and our guides (Javier, Amaury, Eli, and Yadiel) did a great job of getting everyone through the mangroves to the bay! The scenery was beautiful, as was the sunset that evening. Unfortunately, the actual bioluminescence was somewhat underwhelming due to the bright moonlight that evening. The guides tried to improve the experience by putting a tarp over us, but with the kayaks so close together it was still hard to see. We also felt rushed out of the bay and back to the tour starting point due to the other tour groups sharing the bay. Still, it was a really fun kayaking experience. Would definitely recommend.

Great experience - Everything and everyone was awesome , the lagoon was nice to watch the sunset as for the bioluminescence it varies as the guide described so when we went it was there but not as bright and vibrant as adds show but was still pretty good. Well worth the trip!!

Disappointing - While we did see bioluminescence we only had about 5 minutes to look at it before having to head back. The ratio of time with the luminescence to the amount of time spent kayaking/just sitting in the lagoon was not worth the cost. On top of that, a group of 20 teenagers on a field trip were included in our tour. They were loud and engaging in tons of horseplay. No one did anything to reign in their behavior or noise level which ruined the experience for us. Overall, incredibly disappointing and I wish we'd gone with one of the other companies on the lagoon that night, all of which were well-behaved and quiet and spent more time on the water than we did.
