Highlight of the trip for our two families with kids. - Fantastic experience to cap off our week in PR. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We were a group of 9 with five kids, 7 to 12, and it was just the right level of challenge and adventure for them. We were worried about it being a full moon, but the tarp they brought made it easy to see the bioluminescent plankton, and the kids and adults were wowed alike. The guides were all fantastic, helpful, patient, fun and informative. We learned about the wildlife, the mangroves, and the night sky in addition to the lagoon. Couldn’t have been better. 10/10!

Great trip despite the full moon - We had Yadiel, Elí, Gio, David, Sandra and Aunoury as our guides for our trip and they all were phenomenal. They had good jokes and also taught us a lot about the science behind the bay. We went during a full moon so the bay was harder to see but they showed us the constellations instead which was very cool! All of the guides were fluent in English and Spanish so regardless of which language you speak, you will really enjoy your trip.

Fun night (mostly) kayaking trip. - Super fun kayaking trip. Excellent guides. The bioluminescence was a bit underwhelming but still nice to see.

Wonderful trip! Eli and Javier are awesome! - The experience was amazing! It was a very leisurely kayak out to the lagoon. The sights and sounds of the area was breathtaking. The guides were both hilarious and knowledgeable! Javier and Eli really know what they are talking about and make it super fun! David, Yadiel, the other Javier, and Catalina really made it great! I would recommend to anyone. I would also recommend going at 6pm. If you go to the later one, the other companies don’t have lights one there kayaks and it’s pandemonium.

Surreal Experience - Kayaking through the mangroves into Laguna Grande was a surreal experience, especially in the dark. We felt safe and informed by our guides, especially Eli! Although the bioluminescence itself was slightly underwhelming (due to light pollution, cloud coverage, high tide and recent rainfall), but we found the phenomenon fascinating and would recommend other travelers see it before they leave PR.

Not what we expected - I like to start by giving high marks for Natalia and the staff. They were very engaging with the group and were very helpful in explaining how to kayak and the dos and don’ts and the importance of safety for other kayakers. Also, the about the history of the bioluminescent bays. In the past I have experienced the bio luminescent not in Fajardo but in La Parguera which was an amazing phenomenon and experience for me. My girlfriend has never been to Puerto Rico and she wanted to experience this phenomenon and was hoping that the excursion we did in Fajardo would have delivered. Unfortunately, it came up short and was disappointing. I will give my pros and cons about the experience: Pros: • It was not difficult to get to the place and the area was very lite up and there was other business that were offering other water excursions. • I appreciate Natalia trying to contact me to confirm that I was on my way. • I appreciated the staff explaining to the non-kayakers how to kayak and they would be available to assist if someone needed help. • The life jacket came with a whistle in the event a kayaker fell of the kayak or needed help. • The staff made sure that the group of kayakers stayed together in formation through the mangroves until we made it out to the bay. • We got to kayak around the bay enjoying the surrounding areas and the beautiful skies. Cons: • Because of the full moon and we reached the site, a section of the kayaks had to be covered by a large tarp to get a better view of the bioluminescence. • We got to see a quick flash of it under less then a minute to move the tarp to the other section of the kayakers. • I was not interested in knowing more about the sky, where the Milky way or the Big Dipper constellation was. • I am not sure what was the benefit of kayaking around the mangroves at night afterwards. • If I knew about checking the Moonrise Times moon time calendar, I would have selected one of the days to experience the bioluminescence. • The company Pure Adventure Corp should have given notice to the paying customers the choice on whatever day was selected that during a full moon or when the sky is bright, the likelihood of seeing this wonderful phenomenon will be limited and a tarp would have to be used. • On your cancellation Policy, it stated: This experience requires good weather. The weather was good; however, it was still too bright and the moon was out limiting our view of the bioluminescence. People pay good money from all over the world to come see this amazing wonder. However, on a bright night or full moon, they only get to see a sprinkle. I understand businesses need to make money; however, they should also deliver on what the customers are expecting and you guys came up short. I showed her you-tube videos prior to this event and again, came up short.
