Additional Information

Explore the Australian rainforest at night using night vision technology for an insider’s look at the animals that live there.

Imagine exploring the Australian rainforest at night, searching for nocturnal wildlife. Instead of wielding a torch you’re incognito, wearing special night vision goggles.

This is military grade technology that lets you see animals as they go about their business.

After your walk enjoy a hot chocolate gazing up at the starry night. Heaven!

Nights with less moonlight are best for a Night Vision Walk. On a typical night we see five species. Our regular sightings include possum, pademelon, bandicoot, tawny frogmouth, fucsipes, micro bats and frogs.

Really unexpected! - At first, I thought that this night tour was going to just be a normal and boring time while watching animals in the dark. I also thought that the night vision goggles were only for the guide, but I was wrong. I was allowed to wear night vision goggles for myself and see the animals minding their business. I don't know why I was allowed the goggles since I didn't ask for them, but thanks I guess.

Great for teenagers. Mesmerising experience observing habits of nocturnal native animals - Fantastic experience and my three teenage boys were still talking about it days after. Night vision takes you into an unknown world where you observe native animals going about their nocturnal business oblivious to you watching them only metres away. Very important to keep quiet as while they can't see you, they can hear you. The experience is totally mesmerising and will stay with you.

Night vision walk and Historic Nightcap Track - Despite bright moonlight on the night vision walk we still managed to see pademelons, bush rats and a few possums which was pretty cool! Walking round with the night vision goggles was heaps of fun and definitely a unique experience. We also booked the one way transfer to do the Historic Nightcap Track which was an amazing hike and an opportunity to traverse a stunning landscape without seeing any other hikers as it’s relatively remote. Unfortunately Wendy’s car got a flat tyre the evening before but she kindly found a replacement car to avoid cancelling on us - amazing customer service!

Awesome experience - A small group of three of us went and it was a great experience, just seeing what goes on in the pitch dark. We saw a couple of snakes and generally got a lot out of it. Would recommend.

This was so great. We were the only... -
This was so great. We were the only two on the tour that night so it felt very special and personalised. We were picked up and dropped off at our preferred locations and our guide was highly knowledgeable and very friendly indeed. Highly recommend!

Don’t do this tour in winter - They should have different prices for summer and winter season as you are likely to see less animals in winter. Also you can’t see the gloworms in winter and can’t visit minion falls on weekends. This meant we saw a lot less than what we paid for.
