A great way to spend a day! - Our guide Gregory was special! He was quite knowledgeable and entertaining. He sat with each little group on our vehicle and had a long conversation. Gregory made our experience fun and informative. He shared his local knowledge from plants, tobacco, rum, and chocolate to their system of education, healthcare, and politics. We stayed engaged in this fun look into the Dominican culture with Gregory.

An incredible day! - Our host, Angel and our driver, Felix were fabulous! The tour was beautiful and very informative. Maria’s home and plantation were our favorite part of the day. Being able to eat right there was an added bonus.

So worth it! - Recommend 110%. Great tour guide, Angel who shared such a wealth of information and love of his country, and very helpful & smooth driver, Melo. Best tour to see the very interesting fabric of Dominican people & culture. Loved everything about this tour; learning about and sampling sugar cane, cigar rolling, coffee, chocolate, spices, and fruits. Seeing the mountainside, gorgeous landscape, farms, villages, city of Higuey & cathedral, delicious lunch and tour at Maria’s family farm, and ending at the picturesque Macao Beach. Everyone on our tour said they loved it, including the teens.

Shows what DR is all about people, food, and vibe. - We booked this tour at our hotel day prior. We wanted to see what Dominican Republic is all about outside of our fancy resort. Our tour guide Eddy was great spoke perfect English and went out and about to show us his country. The tour is also perfect because it doesn’t take up the whole day and includes lunch. Recommend this tour for everyone of all ages as it is interesting for all.

Worth your time out side the Resort!!! - It was all awesome except, leave the beach out and do more with sugar cane or add the cattle ranch. The lunch was spot on ( that is coming from a chef ) Great tour guide Gary and his driver. Fun to see real Dominican Republic. For better and for worse. Loved that cigar making and the church. We are not into many tours. However this is worth your time!

Absolutely waste of time - Absolutely wasted time. It is only a tour in which they want to sell their expensive products. First we went to a “sugar cane and tobacco plantation”. They don’t to tell you much how they grow the crops. Also they show you only the rolling of the cigars. Nothing to see how the tabacco fermentation process is done. Then you into the shop for alcohol and cigars (expensive). After that you go to a “cocoa and coffe plantation”. This not a plantation , only a garden. They tell you something about the coffee and cocoa production. But again you don’t get the whole picture. Only half of the process is told. After that again they want sell their products. E.g. the coffee is double the price for organic and fair trade coffee in Germany.
