If you are feeling energetic, you can climb the winding path to the Nut’s plateau or, for a more relaxed version, hop onto the chairlift (available September to April Only) for uninterrupted views of Bass Strait.
  • Lobster Ponds - Learn all about Tasmania’s protected freshwater crayfish/lobster.

Scenic - The Nut gives a perfect scenic view of the majestic town of Stanley. The chair lift can be taken 1 or both ways. We chose the chair lift on the way up and walked the way down which is very steep. The scones in the cafe afterwards were very tasty!

Incredible private tour of Stanley and surrounds - Sue is an amazing tour guide; knowledgable, generous, kind and tailored the experience specifically to me, knocking off a lot of destinations in one day without rushing at all. We even climbed to the top of the nut which was spectacular and must do if visiting Stanley (fitness permitting). Would definitely recommend Tasmanian Boutique Tours to anyone who wants a private, small group, customised tour of the North West of Tasmania.

Lots of great views, easy living lifestyle and a beautiful country - Tasmania is beautiful, easy going and lots of great history. Leven Canyon was a short walk with amazing views. We never been to a cave. Gunns Plains Cave State is a must do. The calcite formation was remarkable. Good souvenirs at the town - Penguin! Howard and Yama - thank you for a great time. You made it happen for the newbies to Taz!

As far as the eye can see - A day full of vistas beyond adjectives to describe them. I was not expecting the day to be as wonderful as it actually was.

What a fantastic day! Howard the guide is the best and makes the day perfect! Loved having Ralph along too :) - I recently did a tour with Howard. He runs this business by himself since covid and he works so hard to make the day special. While there is an itinerary, he is flexible and truly personalises your day. I had the best day with Howard and his gorgeous dog Ralph who tagged along. What a sweetie. I spent most of the day laughing, smiling, and had a total ball. There was also another lovely lady on my tour as well. Howard is very knowledgeable, gives great commentary, loves to joke, awesome conversation, and it was great we had so many good stops with lots of nice scenery and walks. Nothing was too much trouble, and his customer service us exceptional. Lunch was delicious and you have plenty of time for great scenery. I truly enjoyed my tour with Howard and I can’t recommend him enough. If you want a fun day out with lots of laughs, do a tour with Howard :) Thankyou again!

Thanks for a wonderfully interesting day. - Just a note to thank you, Howard, for a great and interesting day, on Saturday 28th December, visiting The Nutt and Stanley, from Burnie, and touring the area...such a beautiful section of Tasmania. Lunch was delicious and very entertaining as was the onboard interaction with fellow travellers...a real day to remember. Your patience and knowledge was so very much appreciated. We were returned to the Cruiseship with plenty of time to spare, which is always a worry when booking Tours independently. Thanks Howard.
