Visit to Tango Show - It was an enjoyable experience. You feel the classic art of Tango with a local experience. Well organized and friendly staff. I was able to sit near the stage and felt the energy. I saw a second tier seating and can only imagine that the views were great there as well. I decided not to eat at the restaurant and venture into the local neighborhood offering other options in San Telmo.

Fabulous - You can have dinner then cross the street after dinner to see the Tango show or you can just see the Tango show. The preset dinner was okay but the Tango show was fabulous. This particular venue is where Tango was started in Buenos Aires. I'm not a great dancer or connoisseur of dance but since visiting Buenos Aires I've fallen in love with watching the Tango. My wife hopes I'll take lessons! Anyway, the roots of this dance run deep with feeling and passion and when you watch accomplished performers you can understand why Tango lived in the heart and soul of the Argentine people. The venue is very small and its hard to imagine that multiple dancers can perform on the stage at the same time but they do. The best thing about this venue is that it's small and intimate so you can feel the passion in the Tango as they perform. Because the venue is old and the tables are all on the same level the back third of the seating will have poorer views of the stage so try to get seats in the front half. You won't be disappointed.

Fabulous food, fabulous show. Transfer... -
Fabulous food, fabulous show. Transfer company Gray Line was on time, but didn't come into hotel to find us, so there were some miscommunications. They did fine after we got together. Viejo Almacen is in a historic building, more intimate size, showed us all styles of tango. Fun.

Go for the Show! - Overall the experience was amazing!! Next time I would eat elsewhere and just go for the show. The food was just “ok” and it wasn’t even in the same building as the tango show. There were also “peddlers” who came around which was “annoying”.

We loved the show and the dinner but... -
We loved the show and the dinner but was a little disappointed at our seat location at the show. I wish I had known more about where we were going to be seated in advance. But overall the show was amazing and food was excellent. I would recommend this tour but perhaps to get front row seating next time.

This was my parents' first time to Buenos Aires and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. However, the transportation was very late close to an hour. I speak some Spanish and had I not call them, they would never have come.

Great show lousy viator customer service - The lack of Lauren agent assistance to make it a memorable evening. Two sisters traveling had requested a hotel pickup for Friday November 18th. No confirmation of time provided by gray line contacted viator customer help. She indicated would email the pick up time. She never responded. We had to pay for a cab over and back from venue with was over 25 dollars and wait 2 hours for the show to start since we were so early. Still do not have any notices from viator. Poor customer service. Noticed another individual placard card at our table with viator on it. The seat was empty. I wonder what his story is regarding the booking

Stay Away from Gray Line Argentina at Christmas Eve - On 31st August, 2018, we booked and paid US$182 for the Dinner and Tango Show of the 24th December at the Viejo Almacen in Buenos Aires. The booking was made through Viator, a sister company of Tripadvisor, which in turn used Gray Line Argentina as the local tour provider. On the 20th December, four days before our Dinner and Tango Show, we received a message from Gray Line via Viator that “unfortunately, Viejo Almacen will be closed on December 24th”. We were given the alternative of going either on the 23rd or 25th of December. We were extremely irritated and disappointed with this cancellation as the dinner and show at the Viejo Almacen was going to be one of the highlights of our trip to Buenos Aires. Moreover, it was such short notice that it was going to be impossible to book a similar show at another tango establishment. We reluctantly accepted the 25th December venue. On the 24th December we walked to the Viejo Almacen to see whether the cancellation was genuine or whether we had been bumped off because another couple showed up who were willing to pay more. We got to the Viejo Almacen at around 18:30 hours and it was indeed closed. On the 25th December, soon after we arrived at the Viejo Almacen , I approached Mr Ricardo Veiga, Vice President of the Viejo Almacen, to ask him the reason for cancelling the show on Christmas Eve. To my astonishment, Mr Veiga stated that the show was not cancelled because for the past five (5) years there had not been a show on Christmas Eve because the management of the establishment in 2013 took the decision not to open on that date in order to allow the staff time to spend with their families on the 24th December. Mr Veiga continued to state that Gray Line Argentina was fully aware of the Viejo Almacen's decision of 2013. Moreover, according to Mr Veiga, the price of the show would have been much higher for a Christmas Eve performance than the amount we paid. Mr Veiga gave me the example of the price paid for the New Year’s evening show at the Viejo Almacen, which was considerably higher than on a normal day. The inescapable conclusion is that Gray Line Argentina took our booking and payment of just under US$182 at the end of August 2018 knowing full well that the Viejo Almacen was closed on Christmas Eve, and hence had the use of our money on which they made a 22 % return over the four months prior to our booking. Interest rates in Argentina are exceedingly high. On August 30th 2018, Argentina’s Central Bank increased interest rates from 40 % to 60%. This means that over the four months that Gray Line Argentina had the use of our money it received a staggering US$39.87 equivalent to a 22 % return on the US$182 we had paid for the Christmas Eve dinner and show. The behaviour of Gray Line Argentina in taking our money knowing full well that there was no Christmas Eve dinner and show could be considered fraud, especially as they made a 22% return on our money. Of course, Mr Veiga, the Vice president of the Viejo Almacen, and member of the family that owns the establishment could be lying and blaming Gray Line Argentina for this sad state of affairs. I somehow doubt this as Mr Veiga does not need to make excuses for what is happening at the Viejo Almacen, which has a deserved worldwide reputation for providing a great tango show. Moreover, as he stated to me such despicable behaviour by Gray Line Argentina reflects badly on the Viejo Almacen because most people who have experienced this appalling behaviour by the tour provider do not usually have the possibility of speaking to the Viejo Almacen and assume that the cancellation is because of an over-booking. Gray Line Argentina has behaved shamefully by cynically taking our money and giving us very short notice of the “cancellation” so that we could not look for an alternative on Christmas Eve. Such behaviour completely ruined our Christmas Eve celebrations much to our disappointment and chagrin. Viator behaved exceedingly honourably by given us a complete refund on our booking. We were very much looking forward to spending Christmas Eve at the Viejo Almacen but instead we had to celebrate Christmas in our hotel room. After such an experience, I doubt that I will use any of the Gray Line services around the world. Stay away say I.
