A very intense way to learn all about tango! - It was a great and very personal experience. The tango class was very individual in a small group. It seems to be an easy way, to have an experince of learning tango, not so static like in europe. The teachers are absolute sympatic! And the melonga with explanation from professional dancers is a great experience.

Awesome experience. - Nicole and Mateo is brilliant. They gave me instructions on the basics of Tango and took me to this historic Milonga. I had a great time with them and it was the perfect way to spend my last night in Buenos Aires.

10/10 Would recommend!! - The lesson with Mala was so informative! It took me up to a level I felt comfortable actually dancing in public. The Milonga she chose was perfect for atmosphere and my skill level. She has a great grasp of English, to convey all the nuances that dancing demands. As a solo female traveler who is leaning Spanish, this was a great choice.

Fantastic and excellently organized - We had a wonderful time. The instructors were excellent. I have much dance experience and my husband has very little, but we both learned a lot and had fun. The milonga was very interesting, and it was great to have the instructors there to tell us how it works and to answer all our tango-related questions. I highly recommend.

Insider view of the tango world - Simply amazing! I had nothing to wear, so Nicole sent me to a local boutique that specializes in ladies tango clothing. Outfit secured, my teen daughter & I then received personalized, private lessons from two incredibly gracious pros, Nicole and her partner, Mateas. They quickly had us doing the basics, and then it was off on a short cab ride to a newer local hotspot milonga that a non-local would NEVER find on their own. One of the preeminent elders in Argentine tango made a surprise appearance! We had great conversation in both English & Spanish and learned much about the tango culture as well as about our hosts. Nicole is a kind, cultured, highly knowledgeable expert who teaches in a way that’s easy for newbies to grasp. I would absolutely recommend this experience for a real insider look at the world of Argentine tango.

Great experience with... - Great experience with great hosts! Highly recommend to people who want to see real tango with real people, not a show for tourists.

Highlight of our trip - Highly recommend spending an evening with Rafael. You get a chance to get more intimate with tango by learning it and visiting a milongo. He really gives you a feel of what tango is and the part it plays in Buenos Aires. More importantly it felt like we were hanging out friends and had a fun evening full of tango and other conversations.

Tango Like a Local in Buenos Aires - We had the most amazing experience with Jamilla, Rafael and Roccio. Jamilla arranged four days of tango lessons and milongas, and as a bonus we were lucky enough to even see the semi finals of the city’s tango competition which Rafael and Roccio competed in. We traveled as a group of three generations (ranging from 20-76) and Jamilla was able to accommodate all of our needs. We began our experience by learning tango in a studio and then Rafael, Roccio and Jamilla took us to a variety of tango clubs. At the clubs we were able to try out our skills and use Jamilla’s service of masquerade dancers. We had the most considerate and amazing teachers in the context of the clubs and were integrated into the tango scene. Not only could we see ourselves progress, but we caught the tango bug. It was such a unique way of experiencing Buenos Aires. If you really want to get to know Argentinian tango culture, Jamilla is the person to contact. We guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely mesmerizing!!! - I’ve been living in BA over 2 years and the only exposure I had to tango were the random street dancers in La Boca or near Recoleta cemetery. I recently heard about these “milongas” so was curious about attending one. Being that my Spanish is limited (blame it on the pandemic), I was reluctant to venture out to a milonga on my own. Jamila took the mystery out of it by providing a fun and welcoming experience. She’s extremely knowledgeable about the art and history of tango and broke down all the rules for our group. We even got a lesson on dancing before the ‘real’ dancers arrived, which was an absolute treat! Although I didn’t dare venture out and actually dance once the crowd picked up, just being there and watching/studying all the experienced dancers was so mesmerizing—felt like I could watch them all night. Jamila has definitely sparked my interest to further pursue some additional training. No doubt this has been one of my favorite experiences in BA yet!

Wonderful cultural experience with an excellent guide! - If you want to have an authentic tango experience while you're in Buenos Aires, I recommend you forego the tourist spectacles and go with this experience. I was in Buenos Aires with two of my (university) students, because I wanted them to not just watch people dance tango but learn about the dance itself and have a richer, cultural experience. We were not disappointed! Rafael (a professional tango dancer from Venezuela) met us at 10pm for a one-hour lesson, which included the basic steps and instructions for how to move, where to place your hands, how to lead etc. Then we took an Uber to Maldita Milonga, one of the best places to watch locals dance tango. On Wednesday evenings there is a live orchestra, which was amazing, and then we got to watch the tango dancers. I even got to try out my newly learned moves myself, which was fun! Rafael was an amazing teacher and guide, and the whole experience was unforgettable. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for the real deal, not just a tourist attraction.
