Brilliant evening of wine tasting - We had such a brilliant evening tasting 8 wines (with nibbles) with host Miki, over 2.5 hours! It was just the two of us, but he was a tremendous guide to a superb selection of Hungarian wines. We’ve done wine tours and tastings in Napa, Sonoma, Santa Barbara, Willamette Valley, Barolo, Porto and other world wine regions — and this was one of our favourite evenings! Miki is charming and engaging, and knows so much about Hungarian wines — we learned so much! The wines were excellent and expertly chosen. The accompanying nibbles were high quality and just enough to keep hunger at bay. A must if you’re a wine enthusiast — we looked at several wine tasting options in Budapest and were so glad we selected this one. Miki’s knowledge and experience was very impressive and enthusiastically shared. Our only regret was not being able to buy any to take back (carry on luggage only, ugh). Definitely one of our favourite things we did on our trip to Budapest, would highly recommend.

Very Valuable Introduction to Hungarian Wines - This is a great experience. Miklós (or as his friends call him Mickie) is a very passionate and knowledgeable evangelist for Hungarian wine. He’s been in the business for 25 years and has seemingly traveled all throughout his country to source and share the best that Hungarian has to offer. He personally knows many of the best wine producers and it’s difficult to find elsewhere such a sample of great Hungarian wines from the reds of Villány to the sweet whites of Tokaj. The snacks are excellent and plentiful as well - Hungarian cheeses, meats, and breads. And Mickie is the star of the show with his knowledge, humor, and wit. Great experience all around.

A Must-Do Wine Experience in Hungary - I had such a fantastic wine tasting experience in Hungary! Miki, our host, is not only a sommelier but also a wine journalist, and you can really tell that wine is his true passion. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, witty, and charismatic, which made the whole tasting both fun and insightful. I went with a friend, and since there were no other guests at that time, it felt like a private tour just for us. We tried 7 different wines, all paired with delicious local snacks. Each wine came with fascinating background stories, and it was especially interesting that Miki personally knows many of the winemakers — he shared little anecdotes that made the wines come to life in a special way. Everything was super tasty, the atmosphere was relaxed yet professional, and we left with a much deeper appreciation of Hungarian wines. I can only recommend this experience — whether you’re a wine lover or just curious, you’ll have a great time! 🍷

Fabulous Hungarian wines with knowledgeable host! - We had a fabulous wine tasting experience with Miki and learned a ton about Hungarian wine. Not only did we enjoy the wines and charcuterie, he provided great context and history of the wine regions we were enjoying. The tasting was recommended to me by a friend and I will recommend to others!

DON’T MISS THIS EXPERIENCE! - This was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had! Miklos has THE BEST personality-he is charming and funny and not stuffy like many sommeliers-yet his knowledge of the history of Hungarian wines, his close relationships with many of the winemakers and the stories he tells of each wine make this truly a one-of-a-kind experience. We booked the 7-9 time and did not leave until past 10:30-we were having so much fun! I would so highly recommend this delightful experience to any visitor to Budapest! And the funny thing is-I don’t even drink wine-I booked this for my husband! Yet I had a marvelous time! Miklos even found a wine that in the end, I loved! Do this, for sure!

An absolute must in Budapest! - What a great way to learn and enjoy Hungarian wine! Had no idea what to expect or if we would like the wine and we were blown away! Mikki is obviously very knowledgeable about Hungarian wine regions and varietals, but he is also funny and charming. Recommend that you do this on the first day of our visit so you feel more comfortable ordering wine when out!

Egészségedre! - Fantastic knowledge of wines and hungarian heritage. A varied hand-picked selection of bottles provided a well rounded experience. Trying things we wouldn’t usually be drawn to but we are now! Miki’s knowledge and passion for the wines combined with his professional experience means you are in good hands, each glass was wildly different from the last and we loved each and every one. Left on a high with a Bottle of our favourite and a jar of the famed Mangalica spread! Thanks.
