An amazing experience - An amazing afternoon, Kinga was so knowledgeable and talked us through the central market and then led us back to the apartment to make a lovely chicken paprikash! The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking!

Have a good time while finding about Hungarian food - You can’t get it wrong with these food tours. Having said that, this one was very good. Our guide, Kinga, spoke good English, was very friendly and engaged with everybody. We started by visiting the Central Market. Fantastic. We got to try things we would have never found on our own (the pickles are a must). It is a walking tour, of course, but distances were not long. We even had wines and a shot of a deadly local spirit.

Great host, lots of authentic food and drink! - Spent a lovely couple of hours with our host George. We got to sample some authentic Hungarian dishes. The evening was relaxed and gave us opportunity to ask lots of questions and we got to sample George's homemade plum brandy...hic! Would recommend tour, good value for money. Do not eat before you go as you will have a full tum!

A great night of food and culture - We met George as planned to start what was to be a wonderful evening spent tasting real and delicious local food in the oldest eating establishments in Budapest. We learnt so much about the City’s history and traditions. We sampled sausages, fish goulash, beef goulash, langos, chimney cake, several other desserts and local wine and spirits. George was so informative and full of suggestions of places to visit. We were given a leaflet of recipes to take home to try ourselves. Would highly recommend if you want to go to the historical eating places and have traditional cuisine with great company.

Excellent small group walking tour - This tour allows you to sample traditional Hungarian food such as sausages, pickled vegetables, goolash, local wine. The guide said he keeps the tour groups small; we had 6 folks. The walking pace was slow. The tour could not have been better.

Food heaven! - We met our guide Amy at the grand market entrance hall just before our tour started. We were the only two so we had a private walking tour. After a walk around the market (it’s massive) we ventured downstairs (fish market) and stopped for our first tasting which included pickles, plums with garlic, mini water melon, peppers and tomatoes. The tour moved on with tasters that included langos, salami, chimney cakes, spicy sausage (black pudding). We then walked back towards the market and stopped at a restaurant not too far away. Hungarian goulash soup with local white wine, local rose then finishing with apricot filled pancakes washed down with a glass of red! We had a great time with a very knowledgeable guide. Thank you Amy. 👏👏👏👏

A mixed experience. Mostly fun. - We had a very cute knowledgeable guide but we were extremely disappointed in the goulash soup. This is the Hungarian signature dish and they offered us absolutely the worst rendition. It was nothing like the real thing which we had a few days later. The restaurant that had been selected was obviously cutting corners. Everything else was authentic and delicious and top notch.
