The itinerary is outlined, highlighting major attractions such as the largest synagogue in Europe, and sharing insights about the Jewish community in Hungary, focusing on the period from the Belle Époque or Golden Age to the time of destruction.
- Deak Ferenc Square - Here, the discussion centers on “Gaudiopolis,” meaning the City of Joy in Latin, and the Schutzpass, which saved thousands of Jewish lives. Visitors will also see the remnants of the medieval city wall that once restricted Jewish trade within the city.
- Great / Central Synagogue (Nagy Zsinagoga) - Discover all there is to know about Europe’s largest synagogue, the Neologue and Orthodox movements, and Zionism. Although the tour does not enter the synagogue, the Memorial Courtyard and cemetery can be viewed from outside.
- Rumbach Street Synagogue - Learn about the beautifully restored Rumbach Street Synagogue, its stunning murals, and other urban street art. The tour does not enter the synagogue.
- Gozsdu Udvar - As the tour passes through Gozsdu Passage, guests learn about its historical and contemporary significance. This passage is a hub of entertainment, gastronomy, culture, and markets. The last piece of the ghetto wall is also visible here.
- Kazinczy Street Synagogue - The tour pauses outside the Kazinczy Street Synagogue, home to an Orthodox community of 50-60 families. Discussions include kosher food, Jewish ritual baths, and more. The synagogue is not entered.
- Szimpla Kert - Further murals and urban street art are showcased, and the tour concludes at Szimpla Ruin Bar, where pop-up exhibitions can be explored, providing a final orientation.
