Experience allows, in... - The experience allows, as a complement to the visit to the synagogue, to understand the history of the Jews in Hungary but also the history of the Hungarians more generally.

A moving historical tour of the synagogue and the Jewish Ghetto - Our tour guide, David, was wonderful. We started in the synagogue and he explained the history of both the building and the Jewish people in Hungary. David then took us to the courtyard where over 2,000 Jews were buried at the end of World War II. The area was part of the Jewish Ghetto where Jews were forced to live. He also told us about his family’s personal connection to living in the Ghetto. It was a very interesting and moving tour.

Interesting approach to Jewish culture - If you are interested in getting to know a little bit of Jewish culture, you should visit the Second Largest Synagogue in the World after New York.

Good tour of the synagogue with a very knowledgeable local guide - Milan was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and a good sense of humor. We are English speaking , so he was a bit hard for us to understand his accent at times, mainly when he spoke quickly. The vibe was cool though.

Excessively expensive. - The largest synagogue in Europe and the second in the world. A unique and different building. The price in my opinion is excessive 33€ .You can visit for free or a guided tour that is included with the entrance. You can visit different spaces also included in the entrance. It depends on the pocket of each one, and the time you have in Budapest.

Not Value for Money - Very disappointing. Description seemed to indicate that this would be a special tour with extras. Turned to be one hour with guide in the synagogue complex only - no extras. Not value for money. Would have been better off paying admission fee and then using The synagogue's free tour. Using Viator for years and this is the first disappointing tour.
