The journey begins at Curtea de Argeș Monastery, a significant and iconic religious and historical site. It is the resting place of the Romanian royal family.
Next, we visit Poenari Fortress, which once served as a strategic base for Vlad the Impaler, the historical figure who inspired the Dracula legend. We will admire it from the outside and delve into its intriguing history.
Following that, we explore the impressive Vidraru Dam, an engineering marvel from the 1960s that contains the shimmering waters of Lake Vidraru.
We then ascend into the Făgăraș Mountains National Park, where the beauty of nature is truly breathtaking.
Our destination is Balea Lake, accessible only during the summer and early autumn months, situated at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. Here, you can enjoy the panoramic views and the renowned winding Top Gear Road.
On the return journey, we’ll pause at Capra Waterfall, an ideal spot to enjoy the refreshing mountain air.

- We will NOT visit the interior of Poenari Fortress, we will only see it from below - outside. To enter in Poenari Fortress you have to climb 66 floors on the stairs!
