Parque Nacional de Chicamocha - You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Bucaramanga and taken on a brief journey to witness the grandeur of the Chicamocha Canyon. This canyon, the world’s second largest, stretches over 125 miles (200 km) and has a vertical drop from the river to its highest point of around 1.25 miles (2000 m).
In just over 45 minutes, you’ll reach the Mesa de Los Santos cable car station. Here, you’ll board one of the 38 gondolas that glide over a 6.3km (3.9mi) route, descending 4000ft (1.2km) to the Chicamocha River at the bottom of the canyon, then ascending the opposite side to Panachi. The cable car ride offers stunning panoramic vistas.
Upon arrival at Panachi, you’ll take a guided walking tour of this impressive park situated atop the world. The tour includes a visit to the Guane museum, where you’ll explore the heritage of the quaint village and the Guane Indigenous people. You’ll also have the opportunity to grab some lunch (at your own expense) before you return.

Spanning over 125 miles (200 km), the Chicamocha Canyon’s highest point towers around 1.25 miles (2000 m) from the riverbed, surpassing the Grand Canyon’s depth in Arizona. Its crowning glory is the aerial tramway that extends 0.75 miles (1200m) both descending into the gorge and ascending the opposite cliff, providing a 30-minute ride time which is ample for capturing stunning snapshots.
The theme park itself merges educational experiences from history and culture with elements of thrill-seeking endeavors, offering activities like scaling a man-made waterfall, a zipline course, a high-altitude swing, immersive virtual reality experiences, a waterpark, trampolines, among others.
