Additional Information

Situated to the east of Brussels, Belgium, Leuven is renowned for its breweries. The 15th-century city hall, adorned with towering spires, stands on the main square and is embellished with countless statues accounting for local personas, biblical figures, and saints. Facing it is the intricate late Gothic St. Peter’s Church, home to Dieric Bouts’ “Last Supper” - a work by the famed Flemish Primitive artist. Adjacent to this area, the Oude Markt square offers a stretch of inviting bars and cafes.

Nestled between Brussels and Antwerp in northern Belgium, Mechelen is a city of historical significance. The commanding altar and Anthony van Dyck’s artwork are the highlights of the 13th-century St. Rumbold’s Cathedral. From St. Rumbold’s Tower, one can enjoy 360-degree city views. A sobering reminder of WWII, the Kazerne Dossin military barracks, a detainment place for those sent to concentration camps, now houses a museum and memorial honouring the memory of the Jews and Gypsies who were once kept there.
