Additional Information

Bruges and Ghent, two quaint municipalities in Belgium, are within a short train journey from Brussels. In an ideal scenario, both Bruges and Ghent would command their own day for touring. But if time is of essence, it’s possible to explore both in a single day.

We journeyed through Bruges and Ghent in a day, starting from Brussels. It was a full and bustling day, but thoroughly enjoyable. For an optimal experience, it’s recommended to start early. Bruges, being the more frequented of the two, tends to be heavily crowded by midday. So, it’s better to reach Bruges in the early hours to avoid long queues.

During this day trip, you can wander through enchanting streets, relish waffles and chocolate, enjoy panoramic views from two bell towers, embark on a canal trip, and explore an ancient fortress. Here’s our detailed itinerary through Bruges and Ghent for your pleasure!

Great day! - The tour guides in both Ghent and Bruges were excellent. I had to speak up to secured time to see Saint Baafs Lamb of God (separate paid admission but worth it!). Also ask when it will be opened-I almost missed seeing it in all its glory. Pictures do not do it justice! Rating was lowered 1 star because the transportation was late for all three pick ups - on a cold and rainy day. There was no water provided, which was tough considering the tight time table for the tour. There was also no time scheduled for lunch (not a big deal for me, but some may find it disappointing).
