A Remarkable Sketching Tour with Cai Burton - Unleash Your Creativity in Bristol! - I had the most enchanting experience on a sketching tour through Bristol's city center, led by the incredibly talented and friendly Cai Burton. This tour is an absolute gem, inviting everyone - locals, tourists, and artists alike - to embark on a delightful journey of artistic exploration. As someone with minimal drawing experience, I was initially unsure if this tour would be right for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how inclusive and welcoming the atmosphere was. Cai's emphasis on observation and exploration over technical skill immediately put me at ease. It was refreshing to know that this tour is all about embracing creativity and making memories, regardless of your art expertise. Over the course of just three hours, I was able to create unique sketches that beautifully captured the essence of Bristol. From quick sketches to more detailed studies, Cai guided us through various drawing activities, encouraging artistic freedom and expression. The 1:1 support he provided was invaluable, and I learned different techniques to improve my art and truly observe the city in a new light. Cai's passion for both art and Bristol was infectious, and it created a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the tour. Connecting with fellow participants as we laughed, learned, and created together made the experience even more special. It was a wonderful opportunity to share tips, make new friends, and revel in the joy of the artistic process. Cai's expertise as an artist was evident in the way he skillfully guided and supported each of us. His friendly and supportive nature made the tour a true pleasure. He was genuinely interested in getting to know his visitors, fostering a warm and welcoming environment that encouraged everyone to tap into their creative potential. Aside from the artistry, the tour itself took us to some fascinating places around Bristol, providing unique perspectives for our sketches. Each sketch I completed during the tour became a cherished memento of the day, capturing the soul of this lively city. Whether you're an experienced artist or a complete beginner like me, I wholeheartedly recommend joining Cai Burton's sketching tour. It's a delightful journey that immerses you in the world of art, allows you to rediscover Bristol through an artist's eyes, and leaves you with wonderful memories of a truly inspiring day. Thank you, Cai, for this unforgettable experience!

Lovely and creative way to see the city - I would thoroughly recommend this tour. I'm a complete beginner at sketching but Cai was really encouraging and shared some great tips. It was such a lovely way to spend a morning - I felt as if I got to see my city from a totally fresh perspective and learned lots along the way. Definitely bring some snacks, I was enjoying myself too much to break away and go and buy any!

Sketching for fun and meeting new people. - I really loved this sketching tour. I got to see parts of Bristol I had not seen before (as someone from Frome, Somerset) and then had time in the afternoon to go back and look at some of them. This is the perfect activity if you enjoy/have previously enjoyed drawing but have stopped as you are a perfectionist and you have become worried about putting pen to paper as you believe it will be terrible. I liked that my drawings at the beginning were terrible but I was pleased with my progression. There is a loo break part way through and I would recommend taking a drink and quick to eat snack. I went on my own, it was easy to find, the people were lovely and all of varying ages. It is a lovely activity for individuals, small groups or even large groups like a artsy hen party :D

Saturday sketching tour of Bristol with Cai, local illustrator and artist - Feeling part of the subject you were sketching. Cai's tour covered 12 areas of the city, bringing you face to face with wellknown landmarks, like the Old Vic theatre but also giving colour and background to lesser known subjects like the ancient church which was built as part of the old city wall. He gave very helpful guidance as part of a brief description of what you were seeing but leaving you free to choose media and view. He shared some of his personal feelings which created a relaxed atmosphere in which to work A very interesting tour enhanced by being with people who obviously were enjoying the experience as well and Cai's knowledge of his lovely city. I learnt a lot about, both, using different media and the subjects chosen ....... so thank you.
