Today, we invite you to visit the Country Boy Mine and enjoy the many activities the mine has to offer. Join us for a mine tour into a real gold mine at this historic restored mining site. While at the mine you can also gold pan, pet the burros, slide down the 55 foot ore chute, explore the authentic mine site, view the exhibits and equipment that were used in the mine and visit the general store. The Country Boy Mine has been offering mine tours for over 20 years. The Country Boy Mine is located 2 miles from downtown Breckenridge in Summit County, Colorado.

Experience a unique and historical adventure in Breckenridge’s only actual open mine tour. Explore more about the ancient mining towns. Features gold panning. In the summer, our two friendly burros (small donkeys) roam freely and bask in the attention of feed and pats! Try your luck in extracting your wealth by panning gold in the ore-rich river. Children (and even adults!) will delight in the ore chute slide and a leisurely stroll around the heritage site.

Awesome, so much fun, amazing staff! - Michael and John were absolutely fantastic, everyone was super chill and the tour and panning was amazing! Great way to spend my honeymoon with my wife!

Awesome Tour Guide Michael! - The tour guide Michael was informative (of course) but he was funny and light hearted along the way making the tour as fun as it was informational. I would definitely recommend going.

Country Boy Mine saved our vacation! - Country Boy saved our vacation! After my daughter was injured on our ski trip, we turned to Country Boy Mine for the gold mine tour (a.m.) and the monster truck sleigh ride (p.m.). We had a fantastic day with a hands-on tour of a real gold mine, filled with lore, history and humor, followed by panning for gold. The afternoon sleigh ride offered mountain views, fresh moose tracks, an inside look at an abandoned miners' cabin and smores with a view! It was the highlight of my daughter's week - and mine, too! Thank you for a very special visit, you guys!!

Nice family trip - This was a nice trip to learn more about the area and add a memorable experience
We had a four month baby that was in an infant carrier and he was comfortable the entire time
The guide was knowledgeable
A family was getting ready to rent snow shoes and go out and it seems like a great place for that.

Excellent family afternoon adventure! - We went and participated in both the gold, mine tour with gold panning and the treasure hunt adventure with snowshoeing. What a wonderful afternoon! We shared many laughs during the gold panning and had a bit of shiny treasure collected at the end. The treasure hunt offered a different type of experience with learning to use a compass, snowshoeing, counting paces, and solving riddles. The staff was phenomenal! We had a wee two-year-old in our party, and they went out of their way to include her in all the activities. They were kind, patient and accommodating. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience, and would highly recommend! 10/10!

Surprisingly Entertaining - Really fun and informative. The kids ages 6-13 years of age (4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls) thought it was spooky and cool. The guides were a lot of fun and you could tell they really enjoy the job. The panning for gold was really exciting for the kids and the adults - surprisingly we sat there for an hour doing it. Plan for 2 hours total.
