Playa Conchal - A relaxed ride with cowboys taking you into creeks & wild untouched jungle up to the mountains were you will enjoy gorgeous views of the ocean & surrounding ranch lands of Playa Conchal.

We provide calm horses that are trained to be friendly and accommodating throughout the two-hour trip. The well-kept horses indulge the beginning rider desiring a laid-back stroll through old growth forest or the experienced rider who wants to gallop.

During your ride to Playa Conchal, different types of animals may be seen including monkeys and tropical birds. In Playa Conchal you may swim in the clear waters of the bay, or just relax and enjoy the beach and grab a few drinks! After 30-45 minutes at Playa Conchal, you will head back through the back trails of Guanacaste.

Our tranquil horses, trained for their benign and cooperative nature, are offered for this two-hour journey. Whether you are a novice desirous of a leisurely saunter through an aged forest, or an experienced rider eager to gallop, our well-groomed horses will accommodate you.

As you ambulate towards Playa Conchal, you may encounter a variety of wildlife including monkeys and tropical birds. At Playa Conchal, seize the opportunity to snorkel in the crystal-clear bay waters, or simply unwind on the beach with a refreshing drink or two! After a 30-45 minute stay at Playa Conchal, we will return via the scenic trails of Guanacaste.

You will need to park on the backside of the restaurant - parking is not permitted in the front main parking lot. You will then walk across the street to the beach where the horses will be waiting for you.

Beach ride - We wanted to mark horses on the beach off the bucket list and it was a perfect ride! Great guides - horses were also well behaved. Conchal cove was amazing. Great value!

Pleasant ride to beautiful beach - This was a unique way to reach the stunning Conchal Beach. The water there is much calmer and more blue than Tamarindo beach. It is worth a visit. The horses were calm and obedient, and it was clear that our guide Kenny had good control over them. Our driver Ivan was punctual, and he taught us a lot about the Tamarindo area during the drives.

Great ride and play at the beach! - We had a great experience with our riding tour. I recommend to go early in the morning. It was only my family. The guide was very nice and kind to my kids. He took great care of my youngest son. He gave us plenty of time at Conch beach to play. The horses were very good too and looked well taken care off. Thank you for taking good care of us. We would recommend this!

Horseback ride on the beach - Great horseback ride if you’ve always wanted to ride a horse on the beach. Ride was about an hour total with a stop to buy your own drinks on the beach. We were picked up at our hotel, the W Costa Rica, in a van, and then horseback ride back to the hotel at the end.

This tour was amazing,... - This tour was amazing, the horses were all so beautiful, well behaved, and taken care of. Our tour guide was super patient with those who didn’t have experience riding. The path he took us on was beautiful and we even got time to get off the horses and relax on the beach.

We had a great time... - We had a great time horseback riding. However, if you are looking for instruction or more safety measures, this tour is not for you--there was little instruction, and helmets were not offered. We have been horseback riding before so were comfortable, and the horses were extremely well-behaved. We loved the ride along the beach and thru the trails just behind the beach area. Take water with you, because it is not offered until almost the end of the ride. This was not clearly communicated to us, as our guide did not speak much English. The guide did match the horses well to the different ages of our group. The ride is just about 2 hours.

Nice horseback ride along the beach - The horseback riding was very nice, just the two of us and the one guide. He was friendly and helpful for us non-expert riders. There was some problem with our pickup, but they eventually sent a car to get us at our hotel, and no problem returning afterwards.

Okay but not outstanding. - Well, it was fine but certainly didn’t match the description of what we booked. Poor communication from the tour provider and the guide. There was no stop to take a break and swim. No water or other beverages. Tour was 45 minutes shorter than advertised.

Beach Ride - This outing was just a horse ride along the beach. The "tour" stopped for 45 minutes to "rest." It wasn't what we expected. I would ask more questions before booking this again. We had been on horseback riding tours here in CR before that were more exciting. This was just a walk along the beach.

No show guide and never got to ride - I’m really sorry to say that this was the most disappointing thing we encountered in Costa Rica. We drove to the meetup point which was 30 min from our hotel and the guide never showed. We luckily found WiFi and communicated with the company through WhatsApp after them being 45 min late. They said there was some miscommunication between them and the local guide about the date. They offered us the chance to wait for a guide or to take the tour on them another day. We unfortunately only had one more day here and didn’t want to spend it driving back. They were apologetic and gave us a full refund but, the truth is, we wasted a morning (about 3 hours total) driving and waiting for a tour guide that never showed up. We understand that mistakes happen but we were really disappointed. I hate posting negative reviews but I think it’s important for travelers to know how reliable the tour companies are so you don’t waste precious vacation time.
