Highlights
- Bom Jesus Do Monte - We start our tour on the top of the mountain and visit the most magnificent Sanctuary in Portugal and its magical staircase.
- Se de Braga - Known for the city of the Archbishops where we will visit its historical center, visit the interior of the Cathedral. We will have exclusive access to the interior of the chapels as well as the high choir of the monument.
- Diana - Stop for a delicious lunch at the Diana Restaurant where the intense flavors of the northern cuisine of Portugal combined with the Vinho Verde (Green Wine).
- Guimaraes Castle - The oldest castle in Portugal was where the first Portuguese king grew up and has a very important significance and a reference to the country’s independence.
- Paco dos Duques de Braganca - Then we will visit the Palace of the Dukes where we are dazzled by the luxuries of royalty from other times. A whole history of Portugal will be told by our local guides who have always followed the group.
- Guimaraes - At the end of the day we invite our visitors to discover the romantic medieval city of the historic center of Guimarães. We will stroll through the narrow old streets of the city and possibility for some souvenir shopping.

This small group tour begins with a pick-up from the participants’ hotel or place of stay and can accommodate up to 8 people.
Our first stop is Braga where we’ll be exploring the Bom Jesus Sanctuary, including a splendid climb on its grand staircase that leads up to the main church.
Subsequently, we’ll be offering an exclusive insight into the country’s oldest cathedral, allowing you to discover its chapels and high choir.
Lunch will be a delightful experience of traditional Portuguese food at a local restaurant. Here, you’ll have the chance to sample the region’s renowned ‘Vinho Verde’.
In the afternoon, we travel to Guimarães for a relaxed amble around the medieval city. Here, we’ll visit the famed Castle, a site renowned as the roots of a new kingdom: Portugal.
Following this, we head to the Palace of the Dukes, where the opulence of a bygone era awaits. Our local guides, present throughout the tour, will narrate the captivating history of Portugal.

History, culture and food +++ - We had a lovely day exploring Braga and Guimarães with our small group. Our driver & tour guide, Jorge, was a local and full of knowledge about the history and culture of the area. There was more than enough time at each spot. We throughly enjoyed our lunch at a local tavern in Guimarães - the servings were very generous and hearty and we had the best-cooked fish of our entire trip. My partner is coeliac and this was easily accommodated for him.

Great tour guide - Sergio was a very nice tour guide. Lunchplace in Guimares was great. We shared traditional Portguese food and wine in a local place. Loved Braga and Guimares - a little walking but all doable.
Highlights were the organ and organ playing at mass ehile we were there at Braga cathedral and seeing locals playing music and dancing in the square at Guimares.

Fantastic experience - Our guide was fantastic!! Very knowledgeable about Braga and the churches. Safe driver and still had time to point out interesting sites. Lunch was wonderful and delicious!! Definitely more than worth the value. The whole trip was more than what I expected and the price per person is very affordable. Highly recommended and will be using this service when I return.

Amazing historical sites! - Alex was a fantastic tour guide! He shared so much history and information about the area with us! We would recommend this tour for anyone who loves history and wants to learn more about this region in Portugal.
Lunch was also amazing! A great local restaurant with typical Portuguese dishes!

Great day in Braga and Guimaraes - Pedro was an excellent guide and host for our tour. We were promptly picked up at our hotel. It was a small group. Pedro was extremely knowledgeable and explained Portugals history in a way that was informative , enjoyable and easy to understand. The sites in Braga and Guimaraes are spectacular made more so by Pedro’s knowledge and explanations. Lunch was at a very nice restaurant and the food was excellent.

A Tour Not to Be Missed - We had such an amazing time on this tour! Our tour guide Alex was quite the history buff of Portugal and Porto! Braga and Guimarães were such beautiful cities enriched with culture and history! We enjoyed the Guimarães castle, as well as Braga Cathedral. The lunch was truly a Portuguese experience, very tasty and an abundant amount. This is a great tour to take and hopefully Alex will be your guide, he made the tour fun while telling stories of Portugal's rich culture.
