Highlights
  • Bozeman - Along with alpacas and llamas, you will meet our three Turkish Anatolian Guard Dogs, Chili, Hazel, and Finn, they are litter-mates and best friends! Our chickens and horses (seasonal) love welcoming our visitors and will always take some extra treats too! We have ground squirrels, deer, bald eagles, and of course our cat, Jill, will occasionally make a special appearance.

Take lots of photos during your time on the farm and with your favorite alpaca (don’t forget to tag us on social media). At the end of your tour, you’ll get to pick out a keychain or sticker souvenir to remember your visit with us!

Please wear closed toed shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty and make sure to put on sunscreen as we will be outdoors for the entirety of the tour. Additionally, bring water and note there is not a public restroom on site. Please remember this is a full-time working farm, so you may see alpacas breeding, live births, etc. and always watch your step!

Additional Information

Alpacas of Montana is a textile firm located in Bozeman, Montana, raising their own alpaca herd. They offer an engaging one hour hands-on farm tour that allows you to interact directly with their alpacas and llamas. You will be allowed to feed the animals with their preferred treats, learn how to catch and put halters on them for strolls, assist in bathing them on balmy days, and get an opportunity to meet our alpaca mothers and their offspring (crias) depending on the season. Alpacas exhibit a wide range of colors and personalities. You’d also be enlightened on why these intriguing, distinctive camelids have been allied with humans for millennia, and the disparities between alpacas and llamas.

As we will be spending the entire tour outside, it would be best if you wear covered shoes that you do not mind soiling, and ensure to apply sunscreen. Also, it would be pertinent to bring along water and be aware there are no public restrooms available on site. Since this is a full-fledged operational farm, you might witness alpacas mating, live birthing, and other related activities. Please be cautious of where you step!

Amazing! - The alpaca and llama farm tour was such an amazing experience! The animals were such cuties! Julia and Grace were full of knowledge, warm hearted, super kind AND know all the animals names! (Super impressive). You can tell that the owners love every animal on the farm. The dogs: chilli, finny and the Queen, were so cute and very hardworking. We loved every single moment while on the tour!

The best part of our trip!! - Where to begin?! This was the best part of our Montana trip! Grace was so informative and an all around joy. The alpacas were so cool and social. But my fave part was the Anatolian shepherds. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing Alpaca Tour - The host was super knowledgeable and allowed us to cater the experience to the group’s preferences. The farm has a ton of alpacas and llamas and we were even able to walk them ourselves.

Great outdoor learning experience for all ages - This tour was a great experience. James is full of knowledge and knows how to cater to different audiences, making the tour fun regardless of age or attention spans. Our group was a mixture of business colleagues and family members including my young children. We all really enjoyed it and I learned quite a bit. I’ll definitely be back to the store and will be recommending the tour to others.
