Skip the Strip! Hit the Dam. - As part of our girls getaway, the four of us ventured out for a three hour tour. We arranged for transportation from the hotel and couldn’t have been happier to board our Mercedes van and meet Angela, our driver. She’s been in Vegas since the late 70s so has a wealth of knowledge about the city and surrounding areas. She also made sure we were well prepared for a day on the River- sunscreen, hats and water. The weather never started getting rough and our raft was never tossed. Our guide, Eugene, was great and we set off with our group of 11. We learned so much about the construction of the Hoover Dam - an incredible engineering project, especially given that it was constructed in the 1930s. The trip down the Colorado River was stunning. Crystal clear (cold) water, birds, Bighorn Sheep and wildflowers. We stopped a few times to stretch our legs and a few braved a swim. We ended at the marina which had a shop for souvenirs and beverages. Angela was there to pick us up and drove us back to our hotel. She was as excited about our trip as we were! If you have the time in Vegas to take this tour, it’s a real highlight and a nice break from the Strip. So glad our friend Heidi made all the arrangements and we were able to experience this part of Nevada!

Put your casino money into this tour for an amazing Vegas memory. Well worth it!!! - This was a girl's trip to Vegas, and I checked the reviews when deciding which tour and this tour had the best reviews. I know why; THEY ARE THE BEST. From the communication at the time of booking, to the emails, the staff at both ends and the rides to and from the water. Very informative, beautiful, fun, friendly, and safe. Angela our bus driver from National Park Express was also very informative giving us tour tips and info to and from the river and the Mercedes Sprinter van was comfortable and her frozen water bottles appreciated! Eugene was our boat operator, and he was the best. Request him and you will be as pleased with your tour as we were. He's witty, knowledgeable, courteous and was the perfect host for our tour. The sandwich a delicious turkey wrap, with apple, chips, cookie and water and the souvenir lunch bag was a nice bonus. Great photos, fun stops, and a perfect way to break up a few days at the casinos. The whole crew at the Hoover Dam Raft Tours are amazing and if you have any doubt about planning this side trip while in Vegas, put your casino money to a more memorable experience and enjoy the trip. Absolutely the best!!!

Absolutely spectacular - If I could give it 10 stars I could. Absolutely spectacular and awe inspiring experience. Lots of bird life, bighorn sheep (we got lucky), plant life, geology, and an amazing river guide to boot! I can’t say enough great things about this adventure. Far from the madding crowd. So beautiful and peaceful. Can’t recommend this enough!

Great River Voyage with Friendly & Professional Team - This was a great experience. Our driver, Victor, was super professional and helpful. He picked us up right on time at our hotel on the LV Strip, and then we drove about 40 minutes to Boulder City where we picked up a few more guests. There were 7 in our party total once we headed for the raft at the base of Hoover Dam. Our captain was Russell, who has lived, played and worked on the Colorado River for years. He did a great job piloting and telling stories along the way. We were lucky to get a beautiful day in the upper 60s F with a tailwind. The lunch provided was nice & cold (turkey wrap, chips, cookie, apple & water). The water & views were spectacular. River depth was good in March when we visited. We even saw a group of wild mountain goats along the way. We would highly recommend this trip. The team was wonderful and the scenery and views are terrific. Hopefully you get a weather day as good as the one we got.

Never book with Viator - Horrible experience with Viator. All their emails say arrival time 10:00 am when in fact it’s 9:30 am so we missed the tour and then Viator told us we could reschedule to the next day and then 30 minutes later said no and refused to refund our money. Total rip-off and I am now disputing the charges. Ended up booking the tour directly with the raft company. That’s the only way to do this. Stay away completely from Viator.
