Additional Information

The North End of Boston stands as the city’s oldest inhabited district, and due to the influx of Italian immigrants in the 19th century, it’s often referred to as ‘Little Italy’.

To truly explore this interesting Italian district in Boston, a food tour is recommended; indulge in the culinary delights of North End while learning about its renowned residents.

With numerous top-tier restaurants that offer handcrafted pasta using traditional family recipes handed down from Nonna, and many bakeries that serve the most delicious Italian sweet treats, there isn’t anything you wouldn’t find as you leisurely walk down Hanover street with a local food connoisseur.

You’ll get to taste the most exceptional Italian dishes, from freshly brewed coffee to hot out of the oven pizza. You’ll visit both Moden Pastry and Mike’s Pastry, giving you an opportunity to decide which of the two is Little Italy’s cannoli champion.

Discover famous individualities like Paul Revere and Tony DeMarco, who once traversed these same stone-laid streets.

Must do trip in Boston - Seen the tour on the go city app and it sounded ideal for our first day. Way better than expected with Tony who was really passionate and informative about this area. Visited food venues that we would never of stopped in and had great information about the history of the establishments and the food was beautiful in every stop. A good mixture of history and great food. A brilliant start to our trip. Thank you Tony

Cady gave a terrific tour - Cady was an exceptional guide. She paid attention to the needs of the group(dietary restrictions, walking distance etc) and provided detailed information about the neighborhood in an entertaining way. Highly enjoyed Umbertos pizza and modern pastry. Could do without mikes pastry though.

Great tour with Cady! - We had a great time visiting Boston's North end with Cady! She was fun and knowledgeable. Thanks Cady!! Only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that group was too big (25 people) so this made for long line-ups at the restaurants we visited. Cash-only option was also annoying, but that is not the tour's fault. Suggestion: make arrangements for bite-sized tastings included in the price of the tour and then we can choose to go buy the full portions of things we liked.
