Highlights
  • Old State House - The Old State House, constructed in 1713, is the oldest public building in Boston. Towering over all of the buildings around it, it was meant to impress. This location was the site of government business starting in 1658 and reflects the history of political change in Boston. The very same balcony from which Royal Governors would proclaim the king’s decrees, would be the place from which the Declaration of Independence was read on July 18, 1776. Both the promise and the disappointment of liberty would play out here. The quest for independence in the 18th century would not include everyone. African Americans and women would remain without a voice. Some in the African American community would join the militia to fight for what they hoped would be their freedom. Women would successfully manage businesses and farms during the long war for Independence but would not be recognized. Abolitionists like Prince Hall and feminists like Abigail Adams would begin the fight.

Incredible Experience! 10/10 - What an incredible experience by Boston By Foot! My office was traveling to Boston from Austin, TX for a holiday party, and Boston By Foot was able to schedule a private guided tour that we will all remember forever. Our volunteer guide, Charlie, was an incredible source of knowledge, a super friendly local, and an all-around great person to get to know. Thank you to Charlie, and Red from Boston By Foot, for making our visit to Boston even more special than we could have hoped for! I can't recommend this experience ENOUGH for anyone looking to learn more about the earliest history of our country.

Informative & entertaining - Tom was a fantastic guide. Not a lot of people on the tour so it felt like a private tour for 2. The hour long tour was packed with anecdotes but also left me wanting more. Will definitely do more of their tours.

Excellent tour! - We had an excellent guide who was well-versed in history and architecture. She gave us a well-paced, interesting tour. This tour is SO superior to tours I've taken in other cities that either focused on where celebrities live/hang out or were filled with off-color jokes. This was a real history/architecture tour with info on the geography and politics as well. Really top notch.

📜👣 "Boston by Little Feet: A History Adventure👣📜 - 📜👣 "Boston by Little Feet: A History Adventure" 👣📜 Today, we embarked on an unforgettable journey through time in the heart of Boston! My ten-year-old daughter has developed a deep fascination for history, especially the stories of revolution she's learned in school. And what better day to satisfy her curiosity than on a Jewish holiday with no school? So, we decided to join the "Boston by Little Feet" tour, a fantastic opportunity to delve into the history of American independence. 🇺🇸 Traveling through 300 years of captivating history along Boston's Freedom Trail, this interactive tour is tailor-made for families with children aged 6-12. It's all about encouraging discovery and exploration! As we walked, we visited historical sites that played a pivotal role in the American Revolution, including Faneuil Hall, the Old State House, and the Old South Meeting House. We heard incredible stories about the fascinating people who've called Boston home throughout history. But the real highlight of our day was our amazing tour guide, Alexis! 🌟 She's not just knowledgeable; she has a unique talent for bringing history to life in a way that truly engages children. We laughed, we walked, and we learned together throughout the morning. And speaking of history, my "Aha Moment" was discovering the giant tea kettle that hangs over the entrance to Starbucks in Boston's Government Center. This incredible kettle has been a fixture here since 1873, long before Starbucks came to town. It boasts a whopping capacity of about 228 gallons and spouts steam daily, with its beauty shining even brighter in colder weather. ☕❄️ I wholeheartedly recommend this tour for any young history enthusiast. It's an adventure that combines education with excitement, and we couldn't have asked for a better way to spend our day. 🌆🗺️ #BostonByLittleFeet #HistoryAdventure #FamilyFun

Awesome tour in history - A really good tour of the Freedom Trail. Our guide Dan was a really good storyteller and was making us feel what is was like living in that era. The only downside is that there were not a lot of stops and I would have preferred a longer tour.
