Welcome to the Unesco-recognized Blaye Citadel, a fortification crafted by Vauban with the purpose of protecting Bordeaux.
Situated in the northern region of Bordeaux within the Gironde Estuary, Blaye is well-known for its production of both Red and White Wine.
Opposed to Médoc, Blaye offers a somewhat less crowded, more intimate experience with enough spare time for indulgence.
Our journey will start with a guided tour of the Citadel provided by the Tourism Office, followed by a visit to a Château enhanced with a wine tasting session.
A guide from the Château will provide insights about the region and its vintage wines, plus how they can be distinguished from the wine producers in Medoc.
Also, there will be a Château visit showcasing high-quality wines for tasting, particularly their red wines, which are known to be fruity, well-rounded, and enticing, with a strong, warm aftertaste.
This tasting experience is incorporated within your tour package.
With regard to the white wines, they exhibit a dry and fruity flavor. Specifically, the white Côtes de Bourg are harmonious, creamy, and maintain a balanced palate.
The tours are hosted in a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment, led by local guides who are passionate about their home region.
