Fun Way to Learn from a Local - This was such a fun way to explore the city, eat great food and learn historical information from our guide Eugenio. We were stuffed by the end! We bought drink tickets — it was nice to taste the wine selections. We enjoyed this so much we booked a similar experience in our next destination city.

A personal tour! - My husband and I were lucky enough to have the tour all to ourselves and we really enjoyed the experience with our guide Angelica. She was very knowledgeable about both the food experience in Bologna and the history of the city, as well as other regions of Italy. We were able to enjoy food at several wonderful restaurants while seeing some of the sights in the city center. We would highly recommend taking this tour!

A Good First Food Experience for Travellers - Our guide Angelica did a wonderful job of guiding us through four stops on our food tour. We sampled tagliatelle pasta i al Ragu and a prosciutto tortellini at the first stop. Definitely upgrade to the alcohol add on $18 pp. The meal was paired with a Lambrusco wine (white wine was also an option). Stop two was for Tigelle sandwiches and beers from southern Italy. Cute food stand, no sitting down at this stop. Stop three had us try a breaded pork cutlet with prosciutto and cheese melted on top. Tasty potatoes boiled in a rosemary water. Paired with a Sangiovese. We also had limoncello and another liquor. Final stop was for gelato. Perfect on a hot day. Angelica was a very informative host explaing each dish, talking about how Italians eat their meals and in general providing good facts about Bologna.

Amazing Food! - We had a tour with Angelica and it was awesome. We not only learned so much about the food on Bologna, but also the history of the city and culture. She took us to some of the best restaurants in the city and ones we would never have found if not for her. She was friendly and accommodating. 10/10 Recommend!

Excellent taster & intro to Bolognese food - A great introduction to the traditional foods of the region of Bologna. Our guide, Valentina, picked great stops which typify the main highlights of traditional Bolognese food. We started at Sfolgia Rina where people were lining out into the street to get in. There we had a taster of 3 dishes: Lasagne alla Bolognese, Gramigna alla salsiccia and Tortellini allo zabaione di Parmigiano Reggiano alongside a small salad. Then we moved onto some street food where we tried locally made and fresh tigelle, one with mortadella and some white soft cheese (wish I could remember what it's called) and another with a mixed sauce made with chopped pork lard, rosemary, garlic and a generous sprinkling of Parmigiano Reggiano which I have to say was very tasty! Next stop was Atipico Osteria which is owned by the Phi Hotel next door. The hotel took over this restaurant but retained its 14th century character. There we had the Fried veal rib with ham and parmesan on top with roasted potatoes which was truly exceptional. It was a proper thick chop on the bone, unlike some restaurants which serve it as a schnitzel with paper thin meat. After that, we went to Oggi Gelateria where the ice cream was made in the traditional authentic style (apparently the clue is that the ice cream is served & stored in metal tins) and was AMAZING. This is where the tour ended. I had expected a fifth stop for a typical Italian espresso as per the advertised itinerary. Our guide Valentina was really nice, friendly and knowledgeable. We were on the tour with only one other couple which made it nice & intimate. I didn't give this 5 stars for 2 reasons. (1) the espresso stop was left out and (2) there was confusion as to the precise meeting point as the Fretinelli bookstore meeting point had 2 entrances, so the 4 of us were waiting at the "wrong" entrance. But at least we had Valentina's number to make contact and then find her.

Great few, average tour - The food was fantastic and very filling. Come with an appetite. Had 2 entrees, an appetizer and dessert. In 2.5 hours (not 3.5 as listed in the website description) The tour guide had difficulty talking to the group together as the restaurants were noisy and she had a soft voice. The overall commentary was lacking, providing only a few historical tidbits of the food, little about the city, what we were seeing, etc. she was very engaging in addressing questions but as a tour guide, should have more descriptions and story telling of the sights and food.
