Highlights
  • Boljenovići Ponikve (Pelješac) - Winery run by third-generation wine producers. They produce wine that has its own identity and autochthonism, a fruit-flavored wine, robust with aromas typical to the wine variety and land it grows on. For their great wines, they have received numerous recognitions and awards. Besides wines, guests are invited to taste different kinds of liqueurs.
  • Janjina - Winery in Janjina, located in the middle of the peninsula. Small winery with a long tradition of producing native Plavac mali and Rukatac. Their selection of great wines and fantastic tasting experience will not leave you indifferent. Additionally, they have liqueurs, brandy, vinegar, and olive oil.
  • Potomje - Winery in Potomje, near steep slopes of vineyards on the south side of Peljesac. Generations of wine producers take grapes of the variety Plavac mali from locations Postup and Dingać exclusively from their own plantations. Top-quality wines with limited quantities are their brand. Due to policy quality, not quantity, these wines are hard to find.
  • Ston - Ston is a medieval town especially known for its ancient salt pans which are the oldest active salt pans in the world. Here are the monumental Walls of Ston, the longest fortification wall in Europe - the “Great Wall of Europe”, built in the 14th century.

Additional Information

Peljesac, the second-largest peninsula in Croatia, is a 45-minute drive from Dubrovnik. Some of Croatia’s finest red wines originate from this region. The vineyards in Peljesac benefit from triple insolation, receiving sunlight, sea light, and hill light, which significantly boosts the sugar content in the grapes. Due to the specific locations of the vineyards, mechanization is not possible, leading to all processes being completed manually. The combination of natural factors and diligent work results in outstanding wines. The experience of savoring exquisite wines whilst soaking in the stunning vistas of the Peljesac vineyards is unique.

Excellent Full Day Wine Tour - Our day with Pero was delightful! After pick-up in Mlini, we drove to Peljesac while getting to know our guide and some of the local history of Dubrovnik. We visited three unique wine estates with interesting stories about their products and winemaking. The first was a small production family business with white/red selections to taste and buy. The second was most interesting to me as he was creating both still and sparkling wines and also had delicious fruit liqueurs...plus there was a small food platter to add to our tastebuds. We visited the third larger property after lunch and enjoyed our tasting on the outdoor patio in the warmth and sunshine. Our choice to enjoy lunch in a small fresh seafood restaurant was perfect...views of the bay and the boats while enjoying wine and the catch of the day. I highly recommend this tour and company for an excellent experience while visiting the Dubrovnik region.

Wine tour - Wonderful day spent with Ordan for the wine tour! Every location we went to was great! The facilities were so good! Everyone was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed learning about how the wine is made, and having tours of the wine cellars! And of course drinking the wine! Totally would recommend!

Perfect wine adventure on rainy day - Our host Ordan was so knowledgeable about the wine growing area of Peljesac but was very astute in his knowledge of the peninsula in comparison to other wine making region in other countries. My husband, myself and our friends had a great time wine tasting. We also enjoyed a great lunch with oysters. Yum!
