Your journey begins at the Bois Chéri Tea Factory. A knowledgeable guide will take you through the factory and tea plantation, sharing the rich history, stories, and significance of Bois Chéri and the tea industry in Mauritius.
Following the factory tour, you’ll visit the tea production museum to delve deeper into the history of tea in Mauritius.
Bois Chéri offers a stunning panoramic view of the island’s southern region. Today, Bois Chéri produces a variety of flavored teas, green teas, and herbal teas, which you can sample during your visit.
- Blue Bay Marine Park - Blue Bay Marine Park is a premier location to witness the vibrant marine life and enjoy snorkeling in Mauritius. At the Marine Park, you can choose to view the underwater world from a glass-bottom boat or dive in for a snorkeling adventure.
Snorkeling at the park is highly recommended, as the colorful marine life is truly breathtaking.
With an average depth of 5.5 meters and crystal-clear waters providing excellent visibility, the snorkeling conditions are perfect. You’ll have an excellent view of the reef, fish, and a wide variety of corals.
Blue Bay Marine Park is home to mangroves, algae, seagrasses, corals, and other marine life. It also hosts a diverse range of fish species, including Damselfish, Surgeonfish, Butterflyfish, juvenile Sailfin tangs, as well as tiny Pipefish and Trumpetfish.

Don’t miss the food! At the Mahebourg Market, you’ll find a wide selection of dishes such as Briyani, Dholl Puri (lentil pancakes), Chinese Noodles, and the famous Gato Pima (split pea fritters). These make for a delicious street food experience, and don’t worry, your diet secrets are safe!

Frederick Hendrick Museum - On the way, visit the Frederick Hendrick Museum. This historical site showcases the remnants of the first human settlement in Mauritius. Located at Old Grand Port, it bears witness to the Dutch and French colonial settlements on the southeast coast of Mauritius. The Dutch, the island’s first inhabitants, settled here to colonize the island. The museum is surrounded by a lush tropical garden and includes a visitor center with an exhibition of artifacts found during archaeological excavations since 1997, along with the remains of some ruins. These include building materials like stones, bricks, nails, military objects such as musket balls, cannonballs, flint stones, and many other intriguing items.
