Highlights
  • National Museum of Colombia - Here we will start this street food tour. We will give the necessary explanations and introduction.
  • Carrera 7 - Have you tried the “pandebono” and the “buñuelo”? On the famous “carrera 7” we will make two stops to try these Bogota delicacies. They are two typical foods of our gastronomy that cannot be missed on a street food tour.
  • Plaza de Toros Santamaria - During this street food tour we will pass by historical buildings of Bogotá such as the “Plaza de Toros Santa María”, the planetarium and the famous “Torres del Parque”. We see how history is linked to our gastronomy.
  • Torres del Parque - The “empanadas” of Colombia have nothing to envy to the Argentine ones. Here, however, they are different: fried and corn-based. The famous “Torres del Parque” are the setting for a typical Colombian bakery where we will try the empanadas.
  • La Luvina - The old “Luvina” bookstore, now “Matorral” bookstore, is a highly relevant cultural space in Bogotá. Here, we will try something inevitable: coffee. However, this will be different from the traditional one, since it will be a cold coffee with orange. Being coffee of origin, we can refresh ourselves a bit before continuing with our street food tour.
  • La Macarena - As an inheritance from the Spanish, the “Roscón” arrived in Colombia. But in Bogotá we have given it a personal and different touch, by toasting it, this being the so-called “Roscón Resobado”. We will try them in one of the most iconic streets of “La Macarena”, full of restaurants.
  • Plaza de Mercado La Perseverancia - When we think of Colombia we think of fruits. That’s because we are full of exotic fruits. In the famous “Plaza de la Perseverancia” we will try them on this street food tour in Bogota.
  • Calle Bonita - We have reached the end of this tour. After the food that we have tasted in this Street Food Tour, we will finish with a dessert known as “Oblea”. A dessert so typical that it is found in every corner of the city. A great way to end this food tour.

Great food and great tour guide! - The tour was excellent and Camila was so nice. She told me both about the specific food we tried and about food culture in Colombia generally. We tried 1) pan de bono and leche de avena, 2) buñelos, 3) empanada, 4) coffee/hot chocolate as you wish, 5) lechona, 6) ajiaco soup, 7) lots of exotic fruit, and 8) wafers with caramel and jam filling (I don't remember the name). We were also supposed to try arepas, but decided to skip it because I was too full. So make sure you are proper hungry, or bring a friend to share the portions!

FANTASTIC Food Tour! - Camilo was fantastic! He shared so much history and pride about the food that we tasted. I would have never known to have tried what we had nor would I have understood its history and how the food and places fit in with the Colombian culture and history. If you are going to Bogota, this is a MUST do! I highly recommend it. You will learn a lot and eat fantastic food in the process!

A great way to see Bogota via food - Andres took our walking group tour to multiple locations within a 3 mile radius. At each tasting we were treated to history and neighborhood facts along with samples from the location. Totally fun way to see parts of the city while learning and eating your way. Highly recommend!

Do it! - This tour is how I spent my first afternoon in Bogotá after a morning arrival without my suitcase. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Camilla turned the day around for me with her positive energy, friendliness and, of course, the delicious tour. She is an excellent guide who is very knowledgeable about the food, it’s history and more. If you don’t take this tour you are missing out on something special. It has been the perfect introduction to Colombia.
