Additional Information

This is arguably one of the top combinations of tourist spots near Bogotá. The day unfolds with a trip to the Guatavita Lagoon, well-known as the location where the Muiscas carried out the ritual that birthed the El Dorado legend. The breathtaking charm of the place is an experience that only a visit can encapsulate. Subsequently, we traverse the savannah to reach the town of Zipaquirá, home to the First Wonder of Colombia, the Salt Cathedral—a site you wouldn’t want to overlook in your Colombian visit.

We suggest donning comfortable attire for the trek to the Guatavita lagoon, which involves stairs.

Excellent Tours - My experience was excellent, from the start time, very punctual at the right place, the guide Diego was super good because he tells you what your tuors consists of and throughout the trip he makes you even more interested in getting to know the place you will visit, this tuors You cannot miss it. It is a wonderful experience to reach the top of the Guatavita lagoon. It is a vibe and mixed sensations that make you thank the universe for being there. The church of Sal is incredible. Each of its paths makes the eye marvel. of its history and each sculpture in it, they give you a delicious coffee from DOMO'S Coffee and a delicious hand exfoliation with salts from the souvenir Spa of which I was delighted, your hands are like a baby, the driver Carmelo is an excellent driver and makes you feel safe throughout the trip. You will not regret taking this tuors, it is worth every peso you spend on it.

Great - Excellent tour, but if we knew we would have booked CityBus without Viator, that charges a lot more than the real cost to the tour operators. They are also starting the first hop on hop off bus in Bogotá

Fascinating tour! - Normally I don’t rate things other than hotels and restaurants but this was a special tour. Diego was one of the most personable guides I have had. Guavita was fascinating as well as the Salt Cathedral. Great day trip out of the city.

Loved our guide, but not the mines. - Overall, we really loved the Guatavita trip. Had an amazing group of people and enjoyable conversation along the way. Nice food stops. Our bus driver was also quite skilled. To be honest - didn't love the salt mines. The salt mine tour guide took over, and it simply wasn't as enjoyable to me as our Viator tour guide. While the mines are very spacious, and large, I'm not particularly religious and felt like it was more of a tourist trap than a marvel. Personally, would have preferred to go to some more natural caves.
