We met a tour guide, Left with a new friend! - The pandemic hit Bogota tourism quite hard, and we were honored to be Henry’s first clients since normalcy has been restored. What a delight and perfect match! We cannot say enough about our day spent with Henry Tours. Not only did we get a history and cultural lesson, we also made a new friend. Henry is impossible not to like, and his pride and love for his city beams! We are seasoned travelers and usually hire a tour guide on our first day in a new big city to get the lay of the land and make notes on any places we may want to explore further. The night before our tour with Henry, I sent him a message explaining a little bit about who were are, and that we are adaptable to going “off script…”…and that we love architecture and history. We don’t mind being more adventurous than the usual tourist, as we consider ourselves travelers. Henry picked us up at our hotel promptly, and so began explaining the “British” architecture along the first leg of our car ride…and throughout the day. He was overly generous with his time and attention, never feeling rushed. We definatly got our 10,000 steps. Henry will be able to answer your light and deep questions…political, architectural, religious and cuisine…make sure to take his suggestions for street food along the way. We found some new favorites. We visited many placed not on the “regular” tour, as Henry adapted to our interests. I cannot recommend Henry more highly. I’ve already shared his contact info with many of our friends who plan to visit Bogota. We plan to go back to Bogota soon, and will not miss an opportunity to have Henry show us another area of town or city! TIPS: Wear Flat Shoes (no flip-flops), Hat, Jeans, Light Shirt- be modest in appearance. Ask Henry about planned bathroom and lunch break options for the day (Henry provides water in car). Take a backup battery charger for all those pictures you will be taking, and a small bag or backpack for your water and small items you pick up along the way. You may be seeing so much in the cultural district that you could be away from the car for several hours taking in all the sites!

Monserrat and Bogota - My tour guide, Henry Lopez, made the tour very special. His knowledge of the history of Bogota and being able to avoid some of the traffic tie ups were excellent. He is also a very congenial person. I had always wanted to go to Monserrat and it was fantastic to see. The other sites that Henry took me to were just icing on the cake. Since I had been to the Gold Museum, he made a substitution so that I would see and feel the vibe that Bogota has. Henry was also very patient with my picture taking I would highly recommend this tour—especially with Henry.

Henry is the 'Ambassador of Bogota' - This is an Amazing Tour!! - Henry provided us with a terrific tour of Bogota on December 7. The tour was extremely well organized and Henry was very knowledgeable and passionate about explaining Bogota to new visitors. We loved the visit to Monserrate and the city center - Henry managed all the details for us so we could just enjoy the tour and absorb the culture of a new city. Henry went above and beyond to make sure that we saw all the key landmarks in a short window of time. Highly recommended!!

Understanding & accommodating when we had to cancel due to problems in city - Unfortunately we had to cancel my city tour due to the security problems that occurred in Bogotá this week. First I asked to move the date as my work colleagues changed our meetings-- Henry was extremely understanding and willing to change the tour date. Then I asked to cancel altogether due to safety concerns at the last moment, and he was again very understanding, polite and extremely quick to respond, and even kind enough to offer to return my deposit. I'm just disappointed that I did not get to do the tour this time. I promise I'll come back one day and will definitely book a tour with Henry!

Amazing Day in Bogota - I highly recommend Henry. He met me at my hotel and, over the next 6 hours, while we walked around the center of the city and visited markets, museums and historical sites, he shared with me the history and culture of Colombia and Bogota, a city and country that he deeply loves. I had a great time and look forward to returning to Bogota and traveling to other parts of Colombia.
