Fabulous & very memorable - Gigio is an incredibly skilled, enthusiastic & knowledgeable guide - he tailored this tour to fit what I wanted (no cable car!), was flexible when I needed a bite to eat, and made sure I had everything I needed upon return to the airport. I am so glad I booked this tour. Thank you Gigio!

Bogota in 4 hours - simply great! - We (family and a 13-year-old child) had a particularly nice experience in Bogota: Since we had a 10-hour stopover in Bogota, we decided at short notice (one day before) to do the small 4-hour tour. When we arrived at Bogota airport (6 a.m.), I was able to log into the free wifi there for 30 minutes so I could see the status. The tour was confirmed. I also got a WhatsApp from our very friendly tour guide Marta saying that she was waiting outside at Cafe Oma. We got through immigration in about 45 minutes. Then we walked through the hall to collect our luggage. Our suitcases were in transit and luckily we didn't have to worry about them. El Dorado airport is very well organized, clean and has lots of nice shops and cafes. It is expensive even by European standards. Euros and dollars were accepted. When we got out it was 7:15 in the morning and Cafe Oma was immediately on the left. Marta addressed us directly by name and we were happy that we had found everything so easily. We were able to stow our hand luggage safely in the car. The driver was in the car the whole time and kept an eye on things. After discussing it with Marta, we decided not to drive to Montserrat because we were quite tired and not prepared enough for the 3000 m altitude. It was also very cloudy and you could only see the outline of the mountain later in the day. Nevertheless, the tour was a very nice experience. Marta was an extremely friendly tour guide who was patient with us because we walked very slowly. She was able to pass on her extensive knowledge to us very well and her English was perfect. We are very grateful that we were able to see so much in such a short time. The journey in the car was perfect and very comfortable. There was a lot of traffic jam in the morning, but Marta was able to tell us a lot about Colombia and Bogota and we were able to take great photos of the many beautiful graffiti. We first drove to the unique Candaleria district with its many small alleys. It was still early in the morning and Bogota was just waking up. So we were able to go for a little walk without encountering a lot of crowds. Marta told us something about every street and square. We could ask all the questions we wanted. Later the car was waiting for us again and drove us to the next point. The main square was unique and impressive. Marta always told us to be careful and not to let the street vendors approach us. We felt very well looked after. Marta had exciting facts to hand and we could imagine everything, for example how Simon Bolivar jumped out of the window. We even had time for a small snack and coffee and coca tea in between. Afterwards we went to the Casa de la Moneta and the Botero Museum. We were very impressed. We really enjoyed it. The journey back to the airport was comfortable and quick. Marta accompanied us to the security gate. We rested in the El Dorado lounge until our flight. We left Bogota with a good feeling and will always remember this wonderful experience. Thank you Martha.

Just perfect! - Because we were flying to Armenia (Coffee region) in the afternoon, we booked a half-day Bogota tour with Impulse Travel, and were fortunate to be assigned to Gigio as our guide. At 8:30 am, he was waiting for us with a driver in a very comfortable van outside the Marriott. Upon pick up, we hit the ground running and have nothing but great things to say about Gigio and this tour. His English was wonderful and he was so informative! He was strategic about the order of our visits to ensure we got the most out of every minute, especially given the Easter holiday. He introduced us to Bogota and walked us through the Calendaria area. He treated us to different fruits and chocolate at the market. We enjoyed coffee in the middle of the tour while we listened to a street performer. Gigio’s energy and love for his country was contagious, and we wish we could have taken him with us throughout the rest of our trip!! He gets our highest recommendation!

Exceptional experience in Columbia! - We had a wonderful time on our tour in Bogota! My only regret is not being able to stay longer. From the scenic mountain tops, live music, art, food, and coffee, Bogota is truly an incredible experience. Our guide, Gigio was absolutely the best part! His enthusiasm, knowledge and love for the city truly shined and encouraged us to want to come back. I highly recommend this tour, especially using Gigio as your guide.

Jewel of South America~ - From the ease of pre-communication to the pick up and drop off, this tour was unbeatable. In a short amount of time, I was able to experience the essence of the Colombian people through walks around the Candelaria area, a Mountain View and a museum visit . Interesting stories were told about history and modern times. I experienced food, culture, history, politics and art . I also was able to glimpse the city from the top and try some traditional tea, take lots of awe-inspiring photos and breathe in fresh air at the top of mountain Monserratt with the local people. Bogotà really caught my attention through this marvellous layover tour and I will be back to experience more of this jewel of South America! The coffee was ‘delicioso’ and a focal point in Colombia of course. The guide was friendly and personable. She was generous with her knowledge and tailored topics to my interest. The driver was also excellent which is an important point, because in my travels I’ve noted standards can vary considerably . A not to be missed tour. if you have some time before your next flight . Please, do yourself a favour and book it! You will not regret it. .

Great introductory tour to Bogota but a pity we missed the Botero Museum - Our guide, Gigio, was fantastic. He provided us a good overview of the history of Bogota/Colombia and was very informative throughout, answering all our questions. + Pick up at airport was smoothly coordinated via Whatsapp + Car was comfortable with great driving by the driver + Visited Monserrate and city center + Was brought to Juan Valdez for great coffee - One thing that could be improved was to check the closing time of Botero Museum. It was a public holiday and the museum closed earlier than expected, so we missed it, which was a pity as we really wanted to go

Best way to spend a long layover in Bogota! - I am so glad I booked this tour! I had a long layover in Bogota and did not want to stay at the airport all day. First, the folks at Impulse Travel are super nice and really on top of communication. Once I landed, my guide Gildardo (goes by Gigio) texted me letting me know he was there. The meet-up was easy, we went outside, met our driver and off we went! Gigio is amazing and has such deep knowledge of the area. We started at Monserrate and took the cable car to the top. Gigio made sure I had a great spot to see the views as we went up. The views from the top are breathtaking! From there we headed over to the Gold Museum. Gigio was such an excellent guide and I got so much more out of it than if I had been walking around reading the placards. From there, we headed over to explore the bright murals and art of La Candelaria. He took me to a food market that has been there since he was a child and I got to try/buy some amazing small-batch chocolate. We finished by walking around the cultural center and I got to try Pandebono, a Colombian cheese bread. It was delicious! Then it was time to head back to the airport. Gigio walked me inside and pointed out where I needed to go. Overall - It was a fantastic day and Gigio, with his knowledge and friendly personality, made it a day I will not forget! (Also, our driver was great!)
