Best tour guide in Columbia - Our driver Hernan picked us up on time out front of our Airbnb. He was kind and even though we spoke barely any spanish AT ALL, he still tried his very best to provide the best service possible. The tour guide Andres is probably the best guide we have ever had in our lives. I know the title says coffee tour, but he gave you so much more than that. He taught us about the importance of coffee in Columbia, but he also taught us about the history of Columbia, the importance of graffiti art, and the activism of the Columbian people. But more importantly he showed, not by words but by action the real spirit of Columbia.

Amazing experience! - We were met at our front door exactly on time by Jorge - our super pleasant and professional driver. Emilio, our guide, met us a few minutes later and we were off. We visited the market at Paloquemao where we tried typical coffee and several different Colombian fruits. It was quite the taste experience! We then made our way to our first coffee stop which wasn’t open yet - so Emilio quickly came up with an alternative. We stopped off at the Plaza Bolivar where he told us about some of the amazing history there, then went to Arte y Pasión - a coffee shop and barista school. There he told us about the different regions of coffee growing in Colombia and we tried a coffee “flight” from four different regions along with artisan truffles. Our third stop was a tiny stall in a market in Concordia where we had never been before. Quiple has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had, and we learned how to use an Aeropress. Our last stop was Café la Fonda where coffee beans are actually roasted. We got to see the huge machines and taste some of their specialties. The café de los dioses is not to be missed! All in all it was a fantastic morning and allowed us to learn a lot about coffee - enough that we now want to do a farm tour! Hats off to Emilio for being an incredible guide, and to Jorge for getting us around the city safely and comfortably! If my next tour in Colombia is booked through Impulse, I will be requesting Emilio again!
