Additional Information

Delphi, a renowned site from ancient Greece, can be found nestled at the base of Mt. Parnassus. From Athens, it is a 229-mile journey. Our arrival in historic Delphi is anticipated around midday, following a picturesque voyage through mountainous landscapes, verdant valleys, and quaint towns such as Levadia and Arachova, all while soaking in the beauty of the Greek countryside. The ancient world revered Delphi as its most esteemed oracle, considered the epicenter of the universe. Its reputation grew globally thanks to the prophetic abilities of Pythia, a priestess who would sit on a tripod, inhale ethylene gases, and prophecy the future through her indistinct utterances. Our visit includes the temple of Athena Pronaia, the Castalia Spring, the Stadium, the temple of Apollo, the sacred way, the Athenian treasury house, the ancient theater, and the Museum. From there, we proceed to the contemporary city of Delphi for a meal in a charming, local tavern. Our journey concludes with a return drive to Athens.

A full day of history, beauty, and wonder - We did the tour from Athens to Delphi and Kostas was our tour guide. He was absolutely phenomenal. Not only was he personable and made the full day enjoyable, he was also very patient as he waited for us to climb the archeological site in Delphi and he was incredibly knowledgeable in all the history that brought the past to life. Without hesitation, I would recommend Kostas as a tour guide time and time again. He was absolutely amazing.

George rocked Delphi.! - Everything, especially our driver, George. He was very attentive. He was flexible with our schedule. When asked to recommend a place to get Greek honey, he stopped at a local honey shop.

Splendid Day to Delphi - Our family of 3 (17 year old son) had a fun and very informative trip to Delphi w Terry. He arrived at our hotel for pick up promptly with his very clean Mercedes. We then headed toward Delphi as he explained our day and suggested we tour a monastery rather than Thermopylae, and we were so happy he did. It was a highlight for certain. Terry provided wonderful company, humor and a vivid and detailed history lesson for us throughout the day. We were well prepared for our Delphi tour and afterward we had a lovely lunch of local cuisine at Homestead with a European flair and a view in the town of Delphi. Day was a 10/10.

Tour to Delphi was perfect - Our driver picked us up at our hotel. On the drive to Delphi, he showed us two videos (on an iPad) about Delphi that were very informative, and after the videos, he answered our questions. At Delphi, we had more than enough time to walk around and view the site. When we left, our drive (who was always extremely cordial) let us stop for lunch before returning to Athens. A very pleasant day!
