The Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive structures in Ephesus. The Grand Theater, built in the 3rd century B.C., was later expanded by the Romans in the 1st century A.D. to accommodate 24,000 spectators. Terrace Houses can be added to the itinerary by paying the entrance fee during the tour.

• Meryemana (The Virgin Mary’s House) - After enjoying a traditional Turkish lunch, the next stop is The House of Virgin Mary, located on the Aladag Mountains, 5 miles from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council in 431 A.D. in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the house’s discovery, the Archbishop of Izmir declared it a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited and prayed there.
