Excellent experience with Bodhgaya Taxi Service - I'm very happy with the Bodhgaya Taxi Service. I used them for the transportation from/to the airport and for the Bodh Gaya tour. They are reliable, respond quickly and adapt to all your plan changes. The driver was polite and always on time. They've made my stay in Bodh Gaya relaxed and enjoyable.

Good cost-price investment - I hired Bodhgaya Taxi services through Viator, with the intention of moving around and getting an overview of the main attractions right on my first day. The driver was punctual and polite and the price seemed fair. In my case, I deemed it essential to hire a guide to come along, whose name was Bablu. I did so directly with Bodhgaya Taxi services and Bablu was a great guide.

Good investment - My intention with this tour was to get a good overview of the main attractions right on my first day. I thought the tour would include a guide, but it's just transportation, like a taxi that stays with you. (By the way, there was no one else on this tour and the driver was punctual and polite. All and all, the price for the transport without a guide seemed fair). In any case, I deemed it essential to hire a guide to come along. I did so, paying separately, and it was a good investment.

A special day - Bablu went above and beyond, showing me around the beautiful temples of Bodh Gaya. He was knowledgeable, sensitive and kind. This was a special day which I will treasure.

Great experience: - We had great experience. Our guide Mr.Singh was knowledgeable of history and took time to explain. He was humble and polite and looked after us very well. Driver Mr. Mukesh turned out to be quiet and an expert driver. I would have preferred functioning seat belts for rear seats as well. Will recommend the tour without hesitation.

Hospitable service from a Bodhgaya local - Well, some accidents happened, but everything went well. The boss of this event greeted me personally and gave me a lot of travel advice, he is a nice hospitable native of Bodhgaya, so I recommend joining him. Especially India is not easy for foreigners.

Warning: You will get approached for scams but you will see everything on the itinerary - Warning: they will absolutely take you to some ‘school’ that is a scam that you will hear over and over about needy kids and uniforms. Not five minutes after that stop, the exact same scam was offered at the next place. The fact that they use the guise of children left me very disturbed. Also, the restaurant they contract with is not good and they will tell you it’s the best in the city. Don’t believe them, it’s part of the hustle. But otherwise you will see the places mentioned. The car will more than likely be clean-ish, and the guide will speak some English but hard to understand. Just this is overshadowed by the defects. It passes with a C and is worth the time and effort for the price. I also want to add I wasn’t going to leave any review but they continued to message me weeks after the tour. Then when I told them my honest review they asked not to post and insulted me. Again, it passes for the austere environment.

The Hard Sell - First off, the sights themselves were magnificent. However, my guide's English skills weren't up to the level needed for effective communication and questioning. More significantly, the efforts to extract additional spending went well beyond the normal pressure to tip and steering to preferred vendors. There were numerous "opportunities" to make donations outside of the scope of the tour per se, so come prepared either to give generously or offer firm and repeated no's. As Don Corleone said: "It makes no difference, it don't make any difference to me what a man does for a living, you understand." But for me past a certain point it took away from my ability to appreciate an experience for which I had literally traveled from the other side of the world.
