Arrive Bodhgaya + Evening visit to Mahabodhi Temple complex

Gaya International Airport - Upon your arrival at Gaya airport, our company guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel [Accommodation will be arranged by us and is included in this package].

Company representatives are not allowed inside the baggage collection area. After collecting your luggage, please proceed to the terminal exit where you will find a group of people waiting. Among them will be a Tour Varanasi Guide holding a paging board with your name on it. He will greet you and take you to your booked hotel.

If you are arriving in Bodhgaya by road from Varanasi or any other location, we will coordinate to meet you upon your arrival in Bodhgaya city.

Mahabodhi Temple - In the evening, you will visit the Maha Bodhi Temple Complex – one of the oldest brick temples in India. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed site marks the sacred ground where Buddha attained enlightenment and developed his life philosophy, making it the spiritual heart of Bodhgaya.

Next, visit the Bodhi Tree – the most sacred tree on Earth, under which Prince Siddhartha, the founder of Buddhism, achieved enlightenment. It is said that Buddha stared at the tree in awe and gratitude after his enlightenment.

Then, see the Great Buddha Statue – a 25m-high Japanese-style statue that towers above a beautiful garden at the end of the temple. This impressive monument, unveiled by the Dalai Lama in 1989, is surrounded by 10 smaller sculptures of Buddha’s disciples. The statue is partially hollow and is said to contain around 20,000 bronze Buddhas.

Afterwards, return to your hotel and stay overnight.

Sujata Kuti - Visit Sujata village, believed to be the place where Prince Siddhartha was offered a bowl of kheer (rice milk) while resting under a Banyan tree, weak and starving after severe penance. The Prince miraculously recovered after bathing in the river and eating the food. After spending a day in Sal Grove, he sat under a Pipal Tree in the evening, meditated, and attained enlightenment that night.

Gaya International Airport - Later, at an appropriate time, transfer to Bodhgaya airport.
