Amazing experience freediving Silfra - Amazing experience and would highly recommend. I did the freedive tour in March, even as someone that normally gets cold very quickly I was really warm in the wetsuit, and it was so much nicer to be able to dive down unlike the other groups in drysuits, so definitely do this one if you're a competent swimmer. Bjarni was the perfect guide: made sure I was happy in all the kit, detailed overview of the dive, and whilst in the water had the perfect balance of making sure we were all okay without feeling watched all the time. He also took the time with me afterwards to explain the different freediving qualifications I could do, which I'm really grateful for. Overall, the best experience :)

Amazing experience - Such amazing experience. If you want to swim In Silfra definently consider Freediving instead of snorkeling. You get so many more opportunities with freediving. This was so beautiful and the guide was so nice. I was worried it would be really cold, but it wasn’t bad at all. 10/10. Would recommend

Highly recommend making time to Freedive Iceland. - Marcello was a great and friendly guide, and a pleasure to converse with. Don't worry about being cold, the wetsuits keep you plenty warm. When you factor in all the rental gear, the time spent in the water, and really cool scenery. The cost is really a bargain, and a great way to spend some time on the way to the hot springs afterwards. I would recommend going through this outfit (Freedive Iceland), and I would gladly do this trip again. I can't really think of anything that I would change to improved it.

Amazing Diving Experience! - We had the most amazing experience on this tour. The company did a great job setting up expectations for arrival. Our instructor/guide was very kind, knowledgeable and patient. Absolutely recommend over the comparable snorkel tours.

Unique, fun experience! - Fantastic experience! Stayed surprisingly warm in the wetsuits and really appreciated the freedom of the free diving along with the smaller tour group size. Would do again and will be recommending this to any friends (who are comfortable swimmers) who decide to visit Iceland in the future.

Great Experience with Marcelo! - We had booked with another company and when we showed up they had over booked. Marcelo at Freedive was able to take us in his group at the same time we had scheduled with no problem. Super grateful for the experience and this company for taking us! Marcelo is clearly an experienced diver who loves what he does and was an awesome guide. It was an amazing experience.

Must do! Best way to experience Silfra - Went freediving with Marcelo and had a blast. First, I am known for being cold in the warmest temperatures, but their freedive wetsuits fit perfectly and I didn't feel cold at all! Except my lips ofcourse but as soon as I started diving I completely forgot about them. Marcelo was great with both new and experienced freedivers, explaining technique and keeping an eye whenever I went down deeper. Silfra is also deep enough for some great dives. And the water is stunning. Freediving is definitely the best way to experience it, because you get amazing views from the top and bottom. At the end the warm coats, heated van, and hot chocolate were perfect for changing and warming up :) Thanks Marcelo and Birgir!!

Freedive Silfra - We had a great time free diving the springs with Marcello, the tour guide operator. He was very patient with us while getting ready and was always lending a helping hand. He had a great attitude. The springs were beautiful with amazing water clarity. Current pushes you along faster than we thought but not in an unsafe way, just if you want to look at something deep, better go ahead and go down to look and not wait.

The fissure snorkel/ freedive is a true experience; highly recommended and thanks to our guide Marcello! - What a fantastic experience. We chose this for our last day of a 9 day Iceland tour and went for the early morning 930 am dive when we new the parks were quieter and the light would be great. We were a family of 5 and our youngest is 12. When we looked to book this in our holiday itinerary, we were in two minds about our options because the vast majority of options are dry-suit set-ups and our 12 year old wouldn't fit. So we went with freedive.is for this because it used wetsuits hoping this wouldn't be a miserably cold experience. It was QUITE THE OPPOSITE. First, the wetsuits are c.7mm and so just as warm if not warmer than bulky dry suits. Second, the flexibility in a wetsuit means you are free to move around and spend as much time diving down as we all did to get some of the freedive experience. Dry suits are going to keep you glued to the surface. and thirdly, a sense of exclusivity I suppose as everyone else there is going mainstream. So go freedive and go wetsuits. The fissure snorkel/ freedive is a true experience; like all things a lot in the expectation and not knowing what to expect in 2-3 celsius water! The water is absolutely crystal clear and such a range of emerald to sapphire colours. It's tasty too as glacial water filtered for years on its journey from the glacier to the spring that feeds this fissure. There is a gentle current that takes you through and we were in the water for about 30-35 mins which is comfortable and exhilirating. We had a great guide, Marcello, taking us as a family group which all felt very personal throughout. He was really knowledgeable about the diving (of course), the geology, and a range of other topics including how and when the aurora borealis works. So a big thanks to him for the kit-up, the clean changing set-up, care and attention to all 5 of us and some nice hot choc to finish. Top guy. We will be receiving a range of pics and gopro footage he shot during our dive within 3-4 days on a google drive which is great to have to remember the experience and the diving. Highly recommended.

Honeymooners - This wrote was a highlight of my partner and I’s honeymoon! Despite being nervous about the cold water, we went with the wetsuits. We are so glad we did because while the water is cold, you get used to it very quickly. The views are so incredible that you will actually forget you are cold! Marcelo was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the fissure and made squeezing into a wet suit easy and fun. He takes his photos with a GoPro and the photos turned out amazing. There are apparently two options between free diving and snorkeling which we were unaware of. We ended up with snorkeling but wish we would have done free diving as you can stay down longer due to weights and longer fins. We will definitely book again with Freedive Iceland when we return!
