A beautiful and jam packed tour! - The tour covered everything I wanted to see in Iceland. Beautiful views literally everywhere you go. There wasn’t a time when we didn’t have a beautiful view to look at. We had Óskar and he was the best! Very friendly, informative and went out of his way to take us to extra places not listed on the itinerary. He was amazing! Everyone was very grateful to have him as our tour guide. The only tip I would give is if you are on a budget for food, be prepared to blow it out of the water. Most of the time you’re in remote hotels with one restaurant and the prices are pretty crazy. So be prepared to be paying anywhere between $65-$85 AUD for a meal and drink each night. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience and would definitely go through artic adventures again if I return.

Great tour of Iceland. - Matej was a font of knowledge on the history, geography and natural History as we rolled around 1200 miles of Iceland roads in his van in 6 days. Took hundreds of photos of architecture and scenery, met new friends, ate good food. Accommodations were more than adequate for the most part. Matej handled schedule glitches smoothly.

Well worth it - excellent tour, we were very pleased at being able to see so much of Iceland in a short time! - Group of about 20, on a van, cramped, tiny seats and you need a lot of layers and some food. We had a nice group and the size seemed just right. We had many stops each day with plenty of exercise and wonderful sights. Our icelandic guide/driver was excellent. Omar was organized, punctual, low key, smart, nice, concise, and likeable. He is definitely an expert guide. I felt the times spent at each site were perfect - and there were a lot of them. There were some issues with availability of gluten free options for my Celiac husband, as we stayed in out of the way places (which was scenic, and peaceful) and had only those restaurants, but were able to stop at supermarket one day for emergency food. The company did not communicate this to Omar or to any of the restaurants of the places we stayed, unfortunately. Iceland is very expensiveIf you want to eat lunch and dinner (instead of snacks), budget at least $135/day per person for 2 simple meals, and options are very limited; that is the just the way it is in Iceland. Breakfasts were on the basic side. Icelandic bread is delicious. Several activities were not included with this tour, and there were no alternatives besides waiting on the bus for hours (or walking around a small town), for those who wished to opt out. The accommodations varied, a couple were very bare bones, but always comfortable beds, quiet, very clean. Our goal was to see as much as we could in six days around the ring road, so we were pleased. Iceland has built really good infrastructure for tourists - great walkways, always clean well stocked rest rooms, very well thought out and designed, fitting in with the landscapes, etc. What an amazing country!

A great 6 day tour!! - What an amazing way to see Iceland. The tour was well paced and great for families. The best part was our tour guide, Matej! He was knowledgeable, funny, and so helpful. Between his playlist, facts, and personal stories, the rides never felt long. We had the best time in this beautiful country. I would highly recommend this tour

Wonderful Iceland overview - Waterfalls, glaciers, and stunning views all across the island! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and it was so nice not to have to navigate the roads and sights on our own. Glacier hike is a must!

Fantastic Tour - Highly recommended! - Our 6 days around Iceland were one of the most memorable and enjoyable tours we have experienced. The landscape is beautiful and often breathtaking, the people friendly, and the food delicious. All accommodation was warm, clean and comfortable, and included a good breakfast. The highlight of our tour was, without a doubt, our fantastic guide Vjeran. He is very passionate about his job, and his knowledge, good humour, photographic skills, and safe driving helped make this a very special trip. I would highly recommend this tour and especially Vjeran as a guide. The only negative would be the tour had to come to an end and we had to say goodbye to our family of 6 days.

Truly amazing 6 days - We just finished our 6 days tour. It was one of the most memorable experience we have had. This tour was extremely well organized by our guide Vjeran. He is very passionate about his country and his job. He showed us a lot about this beautiful country. He is very knowledgeable and well prepared, very helpful and went above and beyond to make this trip so wonderful. The accommodation was comfortable, surrounded by beautiful landscape. Breakfast has good variety. Dinners at the places we stayed in were all very nice. Would highly recommend this tour. Very full itinerary. We saw and did different things every day. If you get Vjeran as your guide, is an added bonus. We will come back again to see this amazing place in winter.

Would not recommend - I recently went on a 6-day multi day tour and a few day tours with the company. The day tours were great. Prompt pick up, guides were knowledgeable and friendly, all instructions and communications were clear. The multi day tour was not. We did not visit the following advertised stops (even listed as highlights): the geothermal area of Námaskarð, the village of Siglufjörður, Reykholt, Deildartunguhver hot springs. We also arrived back at Reykjavik on the last day an hour early; I would have preferred spending that hour visiting the sites that were skipped for that day. We did make several surprise stops, which I appreciated, and our guide was very accommodating to other people’s preferences, which I noticed and again appreciated. However, if there was to be a change in the itinerary, or lingering longer at a site would cause the group to miss out on another site later, it should be a group decision and communicated clearly beforehand. If there was a reason we couldn’t visit those sites that should be discussed too. The fine print says AA reserves the right to change the itinerary due to road and weather conditions. Both seemed fine to me each day, but again, no communication. It was also frustrating to constantly be told we get a certain amount of time at a site but not be explicitly told the exact time we needed to be back on the bus (which actually did vary in what the guide thought and what I thought). The whale watching tour also departed from downtown Akureyri, not Dalvik as advertised. We were on a large boat with many other people and groups and the experience is nothing like as advertised in their 6 day detailed information package (definitely no sea angling attempt or barbecuing a catch, or complimentary hot drink/snack). Would not recommend.
