Stunning experience - It’s an informatics and wonderful way to learn the history of computer technology development. It’s also pretty fun to play some of the old Computer games in the game section.

Lovely museum with fantastic exhibits - This is a fantastic museum to visit with so much to see. The exhibits are superb and the guides are hugely knowledgeable and passionate. Any visit should also include the guided tour where you can learn so much in two hours, you come out feeling entertained and informed. I would recommend this to both techies and technophobes.

First class computer museum staffed by interesting volunteers who bring the visit to life. - Fantastic insight into the development of code breaking machines during the 2nd WWar leading to the first electronic computer Collossus. Staffed by very knowledgeable volunteers who bring these machines to life. We took our family and grandsons and spent a good 4 hours and had a great day introducing them to the early PC’s of our youth.Well worth a visit separate from Bletchley Park code breaking centre.

A magnficent collection, with very helpful human guides. - 1) Be aware: There are two "museums" sharing one driveway. I'm reviewing TNMOC.org, not the "museum" that shows you the big house that was at the heart of the estate before the codebreakers moved in. Moving on... TNMOC.org concentrates on the story of the early computers. There is other material too, but the top treasures of the collection are the "pre-personal-computers" age. There are working early computers, and reconstructions of the same. There are experts on hand who will help you understand what you are seeing to any depth you want to take the discussion. (I studied computers at university.) There are two reconstructions of machines involved in breaking the Nazi's system for encrypting messages during WW II. Without the machines represented, we would have lost the war. You don't need to be a card carrying geek to enjoy the museum... but it may be that geeks enjoy it more than people with little interest in technology.

“ From Colossus to the Enigma machine … what amazing things we have seen” - Visiting my son in the area of Stotfold we decided to take a day trip to this museum at Bletchley. My husband and my son have a keen interest in computers of all types and now I very well may be converted . Packed full of history from where computing began to where we are now, this “ place of interest “ proved to be an affordable day out and one for all the family . Certainly worth a visit 👍

Incredible place - Super friendly staff - Really enjoyed coming here last weekend. Fairly easy to get to - one million roundabouts and a very odd dodgy one not far from Bletchley Park. They have plenty of parking right outside. The building has a bit for everyone really - many rooms are mechanical computers from the 40's and 50's, very large. The informative talks from the people there were really good and helped me understand what they did and how it all works. I am a programmer myself and build computers also for my day to day job, but being born in the 80's I'd no clue really about these old code breaking machines. It's still very complex and a little outdated even for me, but it was still interesting to know where the origins of todays modern computers started. Other rooms like the mainframe room was the most interesting. I had really good long talks with both employees and volunteers about the kit in those rooms. Again most machines in there are from the 60s and 70s and only just resemble a computer, but it's still fascinating to see something the size of a room and how they work. The rest of the facility is interesting - loads of older computers on show, the majority all up and running so you can play around with them. Some had preloaded software and others as simple as the BASIC prompt. Also lots of cabinets showing tech. The gift shop right at the end is ok - has a few interesting things. I picked up a valve flip-flop kit as always fancied something with a valve, plus very much into soldering projects. Will get on to that soon. Definitely worth coming here. I think for children, it may get very boring in all honesty. I spent a good 4 hours here, but I think a child may get bored within minutes.

Informative and enjoyable visit. - A very informative and enjoyable visit. The staff were all helpful with explanations especially Robert who went to a lot of trouble to explain the binary system of computers. Thank you very much. We appreciated our time and knowledge, Robert.
