Great Cooking class in Bilbao - From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Mikel was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and funny! The menu was carefully curated to showcase the best of Basque cuisine. We learned about the importance of quality ingredients and precise cooking techniques. Mikel walked us through each step of the cooking process, explaining why certain techniques were used and how to adjust seasonings to taste. The class was well-organized, efficient, and fun. sharing laughter and conversation as we cooked alongside our fellow students (4 in total). The kitchen was well-equipped, clean, and modern, making it easy to focus on the cooking process. I left the class feeling inspired, energized, and eager to recreate these delicious dishes at home. Highly recommend!

Amazing Cooking Class in Bilbao - Wow! This was a wonderful experience. Mikel has worked in a few Michelin-starred restaurants but his approach to cooking is quintessentially Basque: find great ingredients and cook them simply. We cooked, ate, and drank over the course of about 4 hours. The food was amazing and so was the space, but the real star of the show was Mikel. He’s a wonderful host/teacher and he gave us a fantastic afternoon. I 100% recommend this class.

Great small group cooking experience. - My husband and I had a great time. Mikel was informative, entertaining and fun. We really enjoyed that it was a small class so that we could converse with everyone. The food we made was delicious and we left with our bellies full and smiles on our faces.

This is an absolute MUST, for wine and food lovers. - What a fabulous experience. This is an absolute must do experience if you want to learn about the famous wine regions in the area, sample some excellent wines, and then cook some of the most delicious food we had all week during our stay...by our own hands!!! Thanks again to Mikel and the team. Great evening!

The most fun a foodie can have in Bilbao - This was possibly the most fun we had in Bilbao. Mikel (our chef) was fantastic. Charming, knowledgeable, and a good teacher. We learned new tricks in preparation, and the flavor principles of Basque cooking. We also learned about the fine points of Basque wine and the history of the dishes we prepared. We had an immense amount of food. We started with a snack of basque sausages and cheeses, then made the classic pintxo of "gildas". We prepared chorizos poached in cider, marmitako (fish stew), txuleta (massive Basque steak) with candied piquillo peppers, and an amazing Basque dessert sort of like creamy french toast. Plus all the wine we could possibly drink. I highly recommend this course for anyone who likes to cook and eat. Bravo, Mikel!

Top notch experience for couples - Lovely experience. Mikel is clearly a top-notch, experienced chef, yet he is also funny, talkative and sympathetic to your level. We made some amazing food and learned a lot. Definitely recommended.

Perfect last day in Basque country! Welcoming fun atmosphere and delicious food! - We had a wonderful time with Chef Mikel. We lucked out and had a small class of only 4 and it was an amazing time. We made several traditional local Basque dishes and chatted with our fellow classmates. Picked up a few new skills and tips and learned new recipes to take home. Highly recommend and definitely worth the time!

US traveler to Bilbao - All I can say is WOW! Right from the start it was a great experience. I asked for an evening cooking class for 4 adults and Gastrononia Bilbao was very accommodating. First I must say Mikel is an amazing chief and great personality. We didn’t really know what to expect so every corse was an over the top, delightful surprise. Mikel gave us clear instructions, helpful cooking tips along with wine through out the evening. The final corse was Bilbao Toast, unlike anything we have ever had and truly exceptional. I would go back for both Mikel and the best meal in Bilbao (that’s saying a lot!!)
